  1. Just got my car back from Lexus of Perth after it went through this recall - was running around 9.7 before so will be interesting to see if there's any difference after. I did notice how shiny the car was on return though - it's the small touches but the complimentary choccies and a clean car inside and out really does make a difference!
  2. Hey D, just my 2 cents - yep, if you can hold out I'd wait to get 2011 compliance plates just to help with resale later down the track, especially since there's only 2 months to go! I've always preferred lighter colour cars just for practicality purposes (easier to keep them looking clean) but a black/black combination would look awesome, especially on those new rims that come with the IS 350 F-Sport!
  3. Yep just checked the contract - had 3yrs/60k service so this was the last freebie.
  4. No cost - still covered under the 3 or 4-year new car warranty. (Will have to check the paperwork to find out how far it goes!) :D
  5. Just got my car back from its 60,000km service at Lexus of Perth - great service; picked it up from the office in the morning and I was fortunate enough to be driving the loan car ('09 Prestige with EMV and a lot of hailstone damage!) when the call came in saying the service was done. Dropped off the loan car and hopped back into my cleaned and serviced vehicle - all within the span of 6hrs, now that's efficient! Noticed the '09 nav system was a lot more responsive than my '07 version but no biggie. Felt sorry that the severe hailstorm back in March damaged around 120 of their cars; kind of was hoping to test drive the RX350 but also received a call from them during the day to say that the IS350's are just about to be launched! Keen as mustard!
  6. Thanks for posting up the approx service prices Dis-lex-sic; I'm nearing the 60k service - has anyone got a rough idea of what price I should be expecting? (already had the rotors done at the last service and have been through way too many tyres so hopefully won't be hit up again there!)
  7. I had the unfortunate experience of returning to my car in the carpark only to find a series of scratches on the rear bumper and above/around the rear wheel of one side of my car. No note/contact details of the culprit, so I'm left to find someone in Perth who does a good job of paintwork and minor scratch repairs? Any suggestions?
  8. Cheers for the link - great site! As an aside, Lexus of Perth mentioned that they can fit the parts, but cannot offer warranty on them.
  9. I've been hanging out to get some F-Sport gear onto my IS250 for ages but it seems like it'll never happen - every time I ask/enquire about the parts arriving at my local Lexus dealership I'm first told that the parts are coming/haven't arrived yet/no pricing/ and then recently "most likely aren't going to be sold in Australia." It's a real pity, and unless the parts don't adhere to Australian rules/restrictions I can't understand why they wouldn't be sold here. Nevertheless, I'll look to import the parts myself but would really have appreciated it if Lexus could install/still keep warranty on their own parts here as they do in the US. Is the Carson site (www.l-tunedparts.com) still the best place to get genuine parts from?
  10. I read this was an issue with the earlier IS250's and a TSB was issued in the US to replace the catalytic converter with a new design -- why do Australian IS250 owners not get the new design? We're supposed to just put up with it when it's a known issue and there's a known fix?!
  11. Just heard back from Lexus (Perth) - they've asked me to try out different fuels; I'm usually on BP Ultimate (correction: the car is usually on BP Ultimate) or the Shell Premium but this time I'll note down which fuel seems to emit the worst sulphur smell. Kind of weird though - you'd think that a Lexus wouldn't be *that* picky with fuel, and surely there must be a better cat/fuel control mechanism to stop that much excess fuel being burnt up in the catalytic converter.
  12. Mine was pretty bad until it had its first service, but that was a month or so ago, and now under hard driving the smell is back. :( Really does reek, at first I thought it was the brakes but I agree, there's got to be a solution for this! Is it related to the catalytic converters?
  13. My IS250 is going in for its first service (15,000kms) next week. When I took delivery of the car I noticed some minor scratches on the driver side door (on the edge, not the face of the door) -- I reported it to Lexus of Perth and they had it fixed immediately, no questions asked. Would love to get some F-sport parts fitted if/when they arrive!
