  1. I took mine to the local mechanic and he ended up clearing the codes but couldn't tell me why it came up. I wanted to know why it came up in the first place so ended up taking it into Lexus and they mentioned it was due to a misfire.
  2. I ordered some 255/35R18 Nexen N8000 for my is250. Turns out they won't fit them for me due to the load rating. Anyone have this issue?
  3. I have a 2007 is250. I currently have 225/40/18 on the front and 255/40/18 on the rear. Thinking of changing the rears to 255/35/18, would anyone know if there is an issue with this? Also, currently the front tyre doesn't seem to be flush with the rim.. tyres look like they're a bit stretched. Always been like that since I bought the wheels privately. Took it to Bob Jane T-Mart recently and they say I might have the rims back to front. The guy said I might have 8" wide rims on the front and 7" wide on the back, hence the front not being flush. Anyone familiar with this?
  4. Thanks guys. The brake pads have arrived. I have enquired about getting them installed and been quoted $140 for labour. However, my mechanic has advised that 99% of the Bendix pads he's installed ends up squealing (other brands are fine). Does anyone know if this is usually the case if you don't install new rotors at the same time? Does machining the rotors make a difference? Interested to know.. thanks in advance.
  5. Yes I have the same issue. The temperature is always warmer than usual. Feels like there is always heat emitting from the centre console. Also same thing with the outside air. It is very annoying. I have an 07 model as well.
  6. Hi, sorry if this is a repost but I couldn't find it anywhere in the forum. Just had my 105k minor service for my 2007 IS250. They mentioned that I need to replace my rear brakes. Any brands you recommend? I've found the following link but not sure if it is good. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bendix-Ultimate-Brake-Pads-DB1854ULT-for-Rear-Lexus-IS250-2006-2008-/171259946296?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27dfe36538&_uhb=1 Also, does anyone know what the difference between DB1854ULT and DB1854GCT (link below) is? http://www.fusionautomotive.com.au/bendix-general-ct-rear-brake-pads-lexus-is250-db1854-gct.html Thanks in advance!
  7. Hi all, A few weeks ago I ran out of fuel on the way to work! The fuel light didn't even come on, and I still had just under quarter tank left and approx. range was still 83km (see attached photo). Now this wasn't the first time either! About a year ago, I had the same issue but thought it was just a once off and it was due to my lack of attention (I believe the fuel light did come on but only moments before the car died on me). See attached photo. I called up Lexus Kedron (current service dealer) a few days after the 2nd encounter and they seem to think there's an issue with the float. Apparently for the 75,000km service (done by Lexus Indooroopilly) they replace the fuel filter and may have been affected during this time. I've expressed a few times on here before about my dissatisfaction with Lexus Indooroopilly regarding customer service, over pricing etc. and now this has cemented my unhappiness with them. Based on my experiences they are just concerned with the money and not very customer based at all. Anyway, Lexus Kedron have told me to bring it in on Monday to have a look at. Offered a loan car as they always do, at no extra cost, even though I've been out of warranty for quite some time now (something Indooroopilly would never budge on). Has this ever happened or have you heard of this issue before? I'll keep you all posted on the outcome.
  8. Basically comes down to price and customer service. They were very unfriendly and unhelpful. I had my 75k service at Indooroopilly, ended up being $1300! When I called up initially they confirmed that they could provide a loan car and didn't mention any fees. Not until I went to pay for the service they hit me up for it. The cost was only small however I wasn't happy that they didn't tell me from the outset (never charged me for it the previous times). Would have been a good gesture to alleviate the charge since I just paid full price for the service. The other time was when my satnav screen froze. Since it was no longer under warranty, they wouldn't budge on the price. Gave me two options, either have the whole unit replaced for $2.5k, or have the unit removed and sent down to Melbourne just to have it looked at. They wanted me to pay the shipping costs, approx. $250.. only to have it looked at. If it was a screen related issue then it'd be approx. $1200 to replace the screen only. My mate ended up doing some research and found some tutorials. After a bit of soldering he fixed it for me.. for free. Saved myself a fortune.
  9. I just had my 90k service done. Tried a different Lexus dealer (Kedron) due to my dissatisfaction with Lexus Indooroopilly. Made them aware of this and they did it for $990 as opposed to the $1300 quoted by Indooroopilly.
  10. Problem solved! Got a mate take it apart and he found the issue (same as link below). So, all in all I saved myself $1-2k! http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-second-generation/610678-frozen-navigation-screen-fix-diy.html
  11. Thanks for the heads up. They told me it would cost $200 or so for freight to send the unit down just to have it looked at. I tried to get it waived but they wouldn't budge. Requested to speak to the Group Service Manager but he wasn't available so still waiting on a call back (that was 2 weeks ago). Been a bit busy lately so haven't followed up and have had to put up with not being able to use the screen. Had a mate look into it briefly and found this link. Not sure if it will fix the problem.. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-second-generation/610678-frozen-navigation-screen-fix-diy.html Anyway, I've recorded and uploaded a short video of this issue which I thought I'd share with you.
  12. I have the same problem for my 2007 IS250. Can't seem to press anything on the screen however the buttons are still working fine (Audio, Info etc). Called up Lexus Indooroopilly and they said I have two options, either bring the car in and have the unit removied and sent down to Melbourne to have it looked at (couldn't advise if there is a fee for sending it down); or have the entire unit replaced for about $2k! The girl in Servicing I was speaking to said she hasn't come across this issue in the 5 years she's worked there. However only recently (past few weeks) there's been a few cases and said it might be due to the weather!?
  13. Need your help... Newbie here when it comes to all the technical stuff. I'm selling my original IS250 16" Alloys and someone has asked if "these wheels fit a ford courier tray back?" Anyone here know? Thanks in advance!
