  1. This is the only option via the Carsales website. Might add a snap pf the compliance plate just to be clear.
  2. Thanks for the input Will. I don't have to move this car in a hurry but expect selling it could well be a 2-3 month journey. Had contemplated parting it out but the exhaust and LSD are the only items I think would be of any value in the market and replacing with stock units is really out of the question. Has been such a bulletproof and enjoyable car that I'd be stoked to see it go to an enthusiast if possible.
  3. Hi All, After 8 years of ownership it's time to move on the Lex. Carsales ad can be found here: https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Lexus-IS250-2010/SSE-AD-5290852/?Cr=7 Easily the best car I have owned over the journey and with a few tasteful mods it stands out a bit from the crowd and with intake, exhaust, LSD drives very differently to stock versions. Would love to hand it over to a new owner who appreciates just how good these cars are. PM me if you are interested. Mark.
  4. Quite a few guys in the U.S. have done this mod. Most however have used second hand LSDs out of IS300s as opposed to out of 86s. I think Torsen diffs were an option on IS300s sold here in Oz? The main difference being the IS300 Torsen LSD has the same 3.9 final drive as the stock IS250 differential vs 4.1 with the unit I have installed out of the 86. All of these diffs are absolutely plug and play for the IS250 but are are not compatible with the IS350. I would also recommend replacing axle seals when installing as one of the old seals did develop a leak. Have had a good look at throttle controllers but not convinced on the benefit. Any experience with these in a 250?
  5. No pics but have just installed a Torsen LSD (out of a low km Toyota 86 GTS wreck) into my 2010 IS250 F Sport. After sorting a minor rear axle leak.... very happy. 4.1 final drive certainly makes the car feel more responsive off the line with improved in gear acceleration. The rear feels better hooked up in corners too though I haven't taken it out for a 'proper' drive. $450 for the diff and 3 hours labour = highly rated mod! Next mod - Swift sport lowering springs.
  6. Hi Guys, I have two sets of machined aluminium MGP Caliper covers with the Lexus logo that i am looking to offload. These are in perfect condition, come with all mounting brackets and instructions and have never been fitted. Note these are definitely compatible with 18" OEM wheels (I have a set on my 250) and they may fit under larger diameter wheels but not under 17" or below. A good way to dress up the stock 250 caliper and reduce brake dust on the wheels without having to repaint regularly. Set 1. Black with silver Lexus logo front and Lexus L rear SOLD Set 2. Black with silver Lexus logo front and Lexus L rear including silver bolts Further details: http://calipercovers.com/ With the Aussie dollar where it is at the moment these would set you back over $400 a set. Asking $50 per set. Pickup Melbourne eastern suburbs or buyer pays postage (box weighs about 600gm). PM me if you are interested. Mark.
  7. This is one reason why I will never take any future new car to a commercial carwash - whilst they might look slick and suggest they know what they are doing, god only knows what 'products' they are using to clean your car Like you, learnt the hard way with my car - not as bad as yours but these marks are definitely due to wheel cleaner etching the clearcoat and probably going beyond and mixing with surface brake dust just for good measure! I think I read somewhere that acidic cleaner combined with relatively hot wheel temp and time is a bad combination! Lexus wheel coating might also be soft? Not sure I've heard/seen this happening with other makes though
  8. Hi There, Just wondering if this cluster is from the 2011+ model - the cluster that has the dark chrome bezels around the speedo and the tacho? I'd be interested in this if that was the case. Cheers, mark.
  9. Have said it before... big wheels + stiff suspension = rattles over time. My ex-boss' 335 had some horrendous rattles not long after delivery so this is not just an ISx50, IS F, Lexus issue Funny thing is I think I have the same annoying 'ticking' noise you describe - seems to be at the top of the drivers' door. I'm almost certain if you press the tips of your fingers in between the door frame and the rubber seal it goes away but cant see that any of these components are loose. IAt one stage I thought it was the grab handle but this seems well damped. Ultimately I've learned to ignore this one Can't ignore the plastic sounding clunk I'm getting form driver's door/B pillar when I turn right and the rattle coming from the drivers rear door - so car booked in Monday
  10. Hey elmarko Your IS looks great. If you don't mind me asking what did the F-sport front guard badges cost you??? Also did you have any trouble when fitting them. I thought the badges had to locating lugs on the back that went into the 2 holes on the MY11 IS fronts guards. Thanks for the compliment! Badges were from Sewell Lexus. I have a relative living in the US so can get stuff like this shipped out here relatively cheap. I think they were about $30 each with Club Lexus member discount. They're actually the first gen OEM F Sport badges where the F is blue - actually look better IMO than MY'11 badges which are just silver and white No lugs either - just position and stick in place with 3M tape
  11. 10.7l/100lkm after having my trip rest following dash removal in Jun'10 for rattle fix. Was running 10.4 prior to that but with a fair bit of fwy travel. Tank average tends to be 11.4-11.7 with mostly short trips (15-20 mins to work and back). I have an F Sport intake and Magnaflow rears installed and use the paddles a lot. Not sure how people consistently achieve sub 10l/100km - the 250 is a thirsty little sucker when you 'explore' its potential.
  12. Perhaps something all of us should think about when signing for the next new car? Hard to predict which events Lexus will be sponsors of/partnered with in the future but horse racing (and possibly F1 for a couple of years??) seem like good bets. Only signing on the dotted with the inclusion of a day in the Lexus marquee at the next spring carnival might be just as appealing to some as a day at the F1 and possibly more realistic ;)
  13. Possibly not the sharpest snap but shows off recently installed 09/10 GFX front lip and F-Sport quarter panel badges...
  14. MIGHT consider a new/demo/second hand second gen Honda Accord Euro. Haven't driven one but they have received good reviews and Honda generally does a good manual for those searching for more of a driver's car feel. Agree with Atlantis tho on the 250 - for the money, hard to buy better in terms of features, build quality and reliability and perhaps most important.... RWD handling. I wouldn't be too concerned about the 'power' output of the 2.5L. Unless you're obsessive about 0-100/ 1/4 mile times or have a lazy $50K to spend on a 350 - the car's nicely balanced and you can still have some fun when you use the steering wheel paddles.
  15. Would like to check out freight but should be OK - will let you know in next day or so.
