  1. Hi all was wondering whether the 2010 model IS uses the same satnav DVD as, say, the 2008 RX? ie, if I change my vehicle can I use the existing satnav disks on the IS? thanks S
  2. Many thanks Lance Hoping to be able to get myself a test drive of an older IS350 soon! Just doing the research now to try to ensure it's the car for me kind regards Satish
  3. is this the engine that came out with the last generation IS350? direct injection, and 233kW? If so, surely it's not that old as I believe it was a completely new engine, not just a modification of the 2grFE engine (202kW one used in RX350, Toyota Aurion) cheers Satz
  4. Hi could some IS350 owners/experts please help me with a couple of questions as I'm keen to buy a 2nd hand one to replace my 07 RX350: 1. are the front and rear wheel different size? Some websites say so, some say same size f+r 2. is there some generally accepted 'real' figure for acceleration to 100kmh from standstill? I had thought it was around 5.9 seconds, but read a Wheels mag review for the newer model (which seemed to be same weight, etc) which said 6.9 or so 3. is there any difference in exhaust between F sport and Luxury models? many thanks Satz
  5. Hi Lexo, yes I think that happens on mine too. If I have the number saved, then it does show up even while the car's moving. But I don't think it displays unsaved numbers unless it's stopped. I could be wrong, as I don't get many calls in the car :(
  6. so what is the cause of the seal failure? Could it be something simple as the opening/s where the bulbs go into the housing?
  7. Agree with Poisson, the only voice commanding I can get my 07 RX350 to do is to dial prerecorded 'shortcut' numbers. On a related note, I'm still irritated by Lexus not allowing even the incoming call number to show up while the car is in motion. At least then you could decide whether or not to answer a call...
  8. Thanks Lexo. I'll probably narrow down the choice to the two Bridgestone tyres...
  9. thanks Guys. At home using IE9 I can see the Sign in button clearly. HOwever at work, using IE8 it doesn't appear.... weird..
  10. And the others are glorified "other-model" Toyotas! Except perhaps the IS range. I can't think of any Toyota rwd. I do accept my RX350 is a glorified Toyota Harrier, but that's a good base to start from anyway! :)
  11. has anyone got the latest version of the Toyota/Lexus navigation DVD? Was wondering whether it changes any of the functionality of the navigator unit, or just provides map updates (which in my experience are usually 1 year old anyway!) cheers S
  12. most comments I get relate to it being a 'toyota with more stuff'....which is not such a bad thing really. My own perception of Lexus is that it is an old person's car!!! oh no...perhaps I am one now :)
  13. hi all I have an 07 RX 350 completely unmodified...at this stage. Reasonably happy with the car, except that I find the handling/suspension quite soft and uninvolving for a driver. I know that's how they designed it, but I wonder if anyone has improved their own suspension at all? Not looking at dropping the car drastically, maybe a max of 10-20mm. But I'm really after a stiffer though not uncomfortable ride. Kinda like a BMW! cheers Satz
  14. The tyre shop stated that it had to be the bearing. So, armed with that knowledge, approached my Lexus Service mgr again and this time got him to get a good mechanic to drive it. He confirmed it was one of the front bearings that had worn. Replaced under warranty and it seems fine now! Still surprising that the bearing went after just 60,000 km. I don't think I've ever replaced a bearing on any of my previous cars! S
  15. Have you looked at www.tirerack.com? It's a great website (US based) but has plenty of options for narrowing down the tire search to your exact model. Then you can sort by customer reviews, etc. I bought some Yokohama Parada Spec X, just based on the reviews on that site, and other sites. They seem okay. No noisier than other tyres on most surfaces. Good grip in the wet. Haven't tried them in snow! Satz
