  1. Hi Guys, Looking at a 06/07 GS in near future. Cant fully decide between the 430 or the 450H. Would appreciate some feedback from those that can offer it. Either one will be modified. GS430 - Pro's and Cons Pro's - V8, performance mods more accesible and doable Con's - economy, supposedly they have thinner conrods than 1UZ's and can't handle too much forced induction. GS430H - Pro's and Cons Pro's - Huge Power and Torque, Great Fuel Economy Con's - too quite/no decent exhaust note, no one makes performance mods for the hybrid drive. Can the 2GR TRD Supercharger be made to work on the 2GR of the 450H The torque increase would be awesome! Thanks for the opportuity to share my dilema.....LOL B)
  2. Hi guys, as mentioned in the other thread, contemplating either an 06/07 GS450H or a GS430 in the near future. Wanting to mod it as none of my cars remain standard. What performance mods have other done to these 2UZ engines? 1. Exhaust - pretty sure you can get headers and then make up the rest of the exhaust system locally. 2. Chips - does anyone make a performance chip for this engine. 3. Supercharging - I know Bullet Performance makes a low and high rise manifold for the 1UZ with supercharger. Ive spoken with them and they can provide a 3UZ manifold which would fit. Heres an image of the high rise manifold - I was hoping to cut the bugcatcher out of the bonnet....why you may ask? why not, something different. What concerns me thou is some Yank Forums state the 2UZ uses much thinner conrods than the 1UZ, thou the blower kits quote 500hp at the flywheel, so the thinner conrods must be strong enough to handle this sort of power. 4. Turbocharging - I know the owner of a local turbocharging business and a custom turbo setup is also an option to boost the power/torque with an aftermaret ECU. What have others done here? appreciate any info/tips or leads.
  3. Hi guys, First post......looking at getting either a 06/07 GS430 or GS450H in the near future. Love the power and economy of the 450H but wanting to mod it if this becomes the choice. I understand accelerator modules dont work on these vehicles going by what has been said on some Yank forums. Are there any powerchips on the market that could release that electrical torque harder/quicker/stronger? Is there anyone that could develop such a product locally? Happy to be a guinea pig. The GS450H runs the 2GR engine......same as the Aurion TRD. Therefore if I was to install the TRD supercharger from the Aurion onto the 2GR engine of the Lexus, would a custom ECU be all thats required to get it performing right? Open to ideas and suggestions to sway me either way. Is there a way to release the electrical component for the Hybrid drive/system quicker/harder/upgrade it? These vehicle do a 13.5 second quarter mile.....I beleive it could easily get into the mid 12's with a few mods.....appreciate any info anyone can share.
