Not wrong. I've tried iPhone 4's and later, but they don't work. Weird thing is sometimes the display shows the music track title/artist for a few secs but then drops out. I can not get iPhones to play at all. It's a pity there's no firmware upgrade available (?), particularly for Bluetooth streaming music. The hardware is there already.

The bizarre thing is they can control iPods (remember those?) via USB but not iPhones nor Android. AND of course only have Bluetooth for calls. It's obviously just firmware that could be changed to make it integrated but that would prevent you from buying a later model Lexus... I searched Apple for an app that would make it behave like an iPod on USB but to no avail. Haven't searched if Android can trick the USB port to mimic iPod. Bluetooth would be so much simpler.

I had to reduce the gap of the 'genuine' (eBay) plugs and was a bit surprised they were out of tolerance. Otherwise, they looked OK, but appearances obviously ain't everything... Pretty annoyed at the waste of money, time and loss of fuel economy / possible damage of large plug gaps (first pic, close to 2 mm gap). I have a new set of NGK DFH6B-11A from Supercheap. The gaps are all perfect out-of-the-box (second pic).

I bought what seemed genuine Denso plugs nearly 2 yrs ago. It seemed my fuel economy dropped off but I put it down to my imagination and various driving regimes. Today I pulled out a plug to find nearly all the 'iridium' tip (earth side) had gone. The gap was over 2.0 mm... I swapped for a spare new plug and checked the rest - nearly all the same! All I could do is close the gaps to ~1.1 mm and reinstall them. Seems to be running OK but will have to find genuine...

Replying to my own thread - how sad. Anyhoo, after two (2) years of owning my car, I found out that if you press the 'START/STOP' (when stopped) and the trans is in anything but P (park), the engine stops AND the radio / accessories stay ON, as I wanted. Mind blown moment. Then I checked the manual... and there it was.

I'm starting to find the old iPod too hard to transfer songs to - iTunes logic defies me these days - I select songs and use 'Copy to device #name' but the transfer never happens. I'd love to be totally wireless. I wonder what stops music being played over BlueTooth when voice calls are fine. Is there a magic App that fools the car's BT into thinking it's a voice call when playing music?? Searching the App Store, I can't see anything. Newer iOS devices won't talk to my 2011 IS via USB either. Again, an App that converts to an older USB comms protocol could fix it. Anyone know what the soft/firmware protocol / versions need to be?

Hi, I'm a noob here (recent purchase) and not sure if this is the right spot for a new 'how too..' since the last post was 6 years ago... Here goes anyhow. 2011 IS 350 Prestige with touch screen / sat nav system. I think 2011 is '2IS' for second gen (?) in this forum. I'm trying to figure out how to keep the radio / accessories on when pushing the 'Engine Stop / Start' button, when stopping the engine after parking. At the moment, everything turns off whereas key ignition cars leave the radio on when turning the key one position back. Hitting the Engine button again for accessories means the system takes 10 secs to reboot so isn't convenient - usually it's an interesting story on the radio that might go on for a bit but you don't want to sit there with the engine idling unnecessarily, looking dodgey. I searched for this topic but couldn't find a match so hopefully this hasn't been asked before and maybe it's a common gripe. Not sure if other push button ignition cars have the same inconvenience. Thanks for having me aboard. Ahoy! Stephen
