  1. Vehicle: 2007 RX 350 2008 Update Sports Luxury. Situation: Eldest daughter accidentally ripped passenger sun visor material in two places. I was livid as my vehicle is pristine with only K127 Kms up. Lexus of Perth quoted >$700 Aust for a Non-Returnable replacement even if it was the incorrect colour. I was not prepared to accept that condition nor ridiculous amount. Three weeks later, I located precisely what I required at a Wreckers - exact colour, unmarked and removal. To satisfy myself prior to purchase, staff permitted me access to the yard to view their visor before removal. I accepted and purchased. Total cost for removal and supply was $88 Aust. Lesson: It pays to be patient and shop around!
  2. Seeking front passenger sun visor in Trim LA22 for Lexus RX350 Sports Luxury, manufactured Nov 2007, 2008 Upgrade. Quote from Lexus of Perth - $774.97, non-returnable item, ex-Japan. Willing to pay up to $120 and express courier fee for item in excellent condition.
  3. I recommend you conduct your own research for "Known faults on 2007 Lexus RX350" or similar. I researched before I purchased my RX350 Sports Luxury three years ago from Lexus of Perth (Dealer Principal's vehicle) and do not recall a "known fault" relating to the torque converter. Those I did locate were: Water pump starts to leak 50,000 – 70,000Kms. Low rate of idle run (readily solved by cleaning the throttle body once every 50,000Kms). Engine noise at start-up is typical of 2GR engines & associated with VVTi system. Idler Pulley Noise due to defective No. 2 idler pulley. May exhibit a squeaking noise while engine is running, refer Technical Service Bulletin T-SB-0056-09 for 2GR-FE engines. No. 2 idler pulleys can be accessed through the passenger side wheel well opening.
  4. If you live south of the river, I recommend De Rosa Auto Repairs, 7 Hayden Court, Myaree 6154, 9330 3822. John De Rosa is as honest as the day is long. His team consists of older mechanics who know older vehicles and younger mechanics who are up to date with newer vehicles. His workshop is kept clean and tidy.
  5. Suffered precisely the same issue on my 2007 (2008 Update) RX350 (150,000Kms). Issue was resolved by fitting Protex Ultra rotors with retained Bendix 4WD pads. However, a slight vibration under normal braking has resurfaced. My mechanic puts it down to incorrectly tempered Chinese steel used in aftermarket rotors - heating/cooling/heating etc causing very slight warping. Prior to Protex, he also fitted BDA rotors but the same issue quickly appeared and those rotors were returned to vendor. He stated the BEST solution is to purchase genuine Toyota rotors (better quality steel and correctly tempered). However, they are quite expensive, then there is fitting cost! Despite a great deal of commonality between Toyota and Lexus vehicles, Toyota dealers are forbidden to sell parts for Lexus vehicles, eg. the 2GR-FE motor is also used in the 2006-2012 Toyota Aurion GSV-40! Read into that what you wish!! Should a fellow member know the Toyota Part Number for the 2007 RX350 Disc Caliper, we both would be extremely grateful.
  6. Three years ago, I bought an RX350 Sports Luxury with 128,000Km up. Build date Dec 07, first registered in WA Jan 08 to Dealer Principal, Lexus of Perth. EVERYTHING works as you would expect. Full service history as you would expect. Since then, I have replaced rotors, pads, shocks, radiator & associated hoses, fuel and water pump. It was not they required replacement but what I was taught by my father; Preventative Maintenance! There are many common parts shared with Toyota vehicles, eg. the 2008 Avalon has the same engine - just don’t tell the Toyota dealer the part is for a Lexus as he’s forbidden to sell it to you! Stick with QUALITY products eg. I use Penrite oils, Ryco filters, genuine Toyota Super Long Life coolant and Toyota spark plugs FK20HR11 which can be purchased on-line for as little as $19 ea with free postage, see here https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-x-Genuine-Lexus-IRIDIUM-Spark-Plug-ES350-RX350-RX450/252488961402?hash=item3ac983cd7a:g:YJEAAOSwwYpas0~5 NO NEED to pay Lexus dealer inflated prices. Simply go to e-Bay and search “LEXUS RX350 “ . If you wish, you can also purchase a “flip” key, mine cost me $100 and works a treat. Quality quiet tyres are Michelin Latitude Tour HP - not cheap but well worth the money. All in all, my wife and I (both senior citizens) thoroughly enjoy our vehicle. Our son-in-law’s RX330 finally gave up at 375;786Km and his vehicle was being serviced at K-Mart of all places - NOT FOR ME!
  7. Hi again Paul, you wrote, in part ” Not in the boot (there is a DVD-drive sized box but there are no slots or anything). “ From memory, in the boot, there’s a face-plate with two tabs; one at each end, which, when pushed down allow the face-plate to be removed. Behind the face-plate MAY be the DVD. You could also check under both front seats. Just located this on Whirlpool Forums; MAY be useful despite referring to 350: I just had my car picked up today for the schedule service and asked the driver where the gps reader was; told him my brief story about the wrong information and literally couldn't find it. Any one who has a 2009 to 2012 3rd generation Lexus RX 350; will find that the GPS reader is located at the bottom section underneath the centre console where there is a 12 volt outlet, sort of like a tray where you can put things. There is a black piece of plastic with grooves which you will need to use a flat head screwdriver to remove. Once that is done, you will have direct access to updating the GPS of the car.
  8. Hi @poisson. The best I can suggest is to Google and view the “Videos”. As mine is a 2008 RX350 (nav disc in boot area ), it’s probably different to yours
  9. This topic was originally titled “Caliper Piston / s”, but is amended to better reflect the braking problem on my 2007 RX350 front wheels. Am experiencing symptoms like a warped rotor (new BDAs twice in last 12 months); a pulsating feel similar to but not ABS. This occurs when braking at speeds <70Kmh. My mechanic has done all the usual; Dial gauge, replace rotors (DBA), pads (Bendix), OBD codes, and ALL tyres have been checked for balance and then rotated. However, problem still exists despite being in workshop for 5 days now. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks.
  10. Apologies guys, I’ve had a lot to contend with these past weeks since being diagnosed with Ventricular Fibrillation which, in turn, can cause Sudden Cardiac Arrest; the operative word being the adjective “SUDDEN”! My vehicle was ready for it’s round-Oz bucket-list road trip to meet up with fellow Veterans I served with over a 25-year career. Fat chance now! I have surrendered my licence, sold my vehicle (gnashing of teeth) and bought a Corolla for SWMBO. Now my transport is either the Corolla or an electric buggy - FARK, what a comedown. Anyway, as posted (17 July, I believe), the disc I purchased presented no problems and worked as it should have.
  11. I went with the same guys. It’s NOT an Aussie business, it’s based in the UK but they must have an Aussie agent. My CD was also delivered in 4 days in an Australia Post padded envelope. My CD also works properly. The “funds transfer” caused me to research where I located adverse criticism about them, albeit a number of years ago. However, I am satisfied with my purchase which is fully functional. There you have it for what it’s worth! $100 against >$400, your choice.
  12. Sorry bazzle, what is "Orange Download"? My RX350 Sports Luxury was manufactured in Dec 07, shipped to Oz in Jan 08 as a "2008 Upgrade" and first registered in Feb 2008. So, do I use a + or - CD?
  13. Hi bazzle, I too wish to download this torrent (?). At the website on your link, please advise: a. Which option to select; "Download with SSL Encryption" OR "Inline Download"?? b. Can I use one DVD+R Double Layer Thank you. bucephalus
