  1. This should be a no charge driveway reprogram very easy to do... Ask at the service depmartment and let them know your looking at up grading in the very near future it always helps ie no cost and a free cup of coffee..
  2. Most dealerships should have master techs at least the foreman being one. This is a requirement of lexus for the dealership to maintain their lexus contract so make sure you have one of these techs do the job..I personally know the guys out at Melb, blackburn and brighton all able to do this job... Note you may also be looking at a sensor/water pump as these should be checked and replaced at the same time.Cost of replacing these later is quite expensive.(labour)
  3. All vehicles are sold with 3 keys two are master keys and one a sub key....
  4. Better late than never... the head unit is located under the drivers seat, tilt the seat up and all the way forward..Remove the cover 2 screws expose unit press button disc ejects incert new disc and wait till screen tells you it has loaded....
  5. the sat nav disc (headunit) located in the rear of the vehicle, where your jackand tool kit is.. look carefully and you will see a small cover remove cover exposing the face of head unit.. there should be a button press it to remove disc(remember ign on) incert new disc and wait till the screen tells you the loading is complete bingo all done....
  6. Hi i have seen and repaired the problem with the high pitched squeal noise.. it is a relay that is dying located in the master cylinder(the electrical side) most dealerships have been made aware of these... they also have the information on how to repair.. i believe the cost of a new master clyinder was 2k> The parts can be had for less than $10 and then the labour much cheaper option. Good luck with your endeavours..
  7. I don,t think its a fuse problem.. It does how ever sound like a switch or mirror problem.... suggest you go to a lexus dealership see if a tech can have a quick look(aka wait job). I,m sure there will be litttle or no charge... it may be a warranty item or a commen fault...
  8. Hi, vai_is200 you have to lift the rear of the cover as well as retracting it towards you.. To help lift it use a wide thin blade object..( i use a peice of perspecs)
  9. Hi streetlegal, i have fitted a body kit on the new is250 (front ,rear spoilers sideskirts, boot and exhaust tips) the kit was complete and supplied by lexus spareparts (aka toyota). easy to fit, looks great and not the type that would, scape on the pavement.. Although an x-tech home handy man skills only required with some commen sense...
  10. Why not buy the the bar and get some one else to fit it...(another workshop)Take it from me it aint that difficult to fit, it comes with very detailed instructions and only basic hand tools required.
  11. With reguards to the key problem. Lexus has found that the frequencyof the remote pads were similar to that of the scanners that are used in the shopping complexes... Also some telephone towers ..The fix for the IS250s requires a replacement chip and keyfob, that opperates on a different frequency...If you are having troubles you need to push the issue to get the upgrade..
  12. i believe it is a safety issue, that way no person can sneak in on you while your getting in.... you can how ever get lexus dealership to reset your smart remote to all door unlock.(free service) :D
  13. i believe most lexus dealerships will work on (soarers SC400)or at least know/recommend someone...there is a soarer club in australia you could try as well... happy hunting....
  14. save your money and buy a 300... a lot less headaches... i guess it,s a question of how much more power do you want?????????
  15. there is a place in melbourne called petroject the word is they can rest your ecu, that way it will accept a new keys.... also ask at any lexus dealership to try and reprogram your new keys as some of the sub keys were programed as masters from the factory.... good luck...
