  1. What's your experience with waxing and polishing? How often do you want to wax?
  2. Wow that's not very much at all. Decent power for the mods on it. I'm assuming there was also a tune?
  3. I was in a similar boat when I got my car. I was looking at a Golf R, 370Z, 335i Having come from a WRX and Skyline (the latter I still own) the R was just plain boring a nice car but just so dam dull for what it was. This was before you get into VW seervicing costs and their current patchy reliability. I decided to keep my Nissan for shots and giggles so that ruled out the 370. The 335 was just too expensive and whilst I am a BMW fan at heart none of their current line up excites me. A BMW needs to be an NA straight six that screams off its head or nothing. Coming from a type R honda you'll find the Lexus wanting on turn in, it really is a back half of a corner type car. As for the STI take one for a drive. The interior, including the much improved MY15 (the new one just released) one still isn't a patch on the lexus. I wouldn't get the new STI. The current wrx has gone the FA20 motor however the sti still has the old EJ257 motor so when Subaru changes it over the resale on the new sti will be horrid. The new STI is finally priced very well though
  4. This is correct. You can usually get the same deal at any time, if anything end of the month could be a good time in case they haven't made their monthly targetsAs for the dealerships they are okay to haggle with. On the two occasions I managed to get the cars I wanted for the price I wanted; the RX did take a lot of looking and patience though depends on the demand of the car on the used market i know the RX sells like a hotcake on the used market hard to get a good deal on a RX they know if you walk away they are going to sell it to the next person that comes even on the private used market first person to come and see my rx bought it pretty much 1K off the asking price Was after an ex-demo current shape RX350 with a budget of 65k; was difficult to get near it. After a lot of searching managed to find one for that price. The reason was that the interior was saddle tan (we wanted a dark interior) and that isn't a popular choice. Personally I think it looks better than black because it adds colour to the car. Cream looks awesome but it is too high maintenance.
  5. Welcome Your queries have been well answered in the above responses

  7. You have to do you homework on aftermarket exhausts because more often that not from the diff back (the part that makes the noise) is just mindless drone. I have read good things about the Lexus F exhaust though. Do you do a lot of long trips? The drone on the exhaust (depending on how loud you go) can be irritating. For my track car - I HATE doing long trips in it because the exhaust is so monotonous when driving at 2000-3000 constantly - above 4000 it comes alive! What sort of power are you chasing? Chances are an exhaust will give you bugger all jump in power (from both a real figure and the seat of your pants feeling); it will improve sound though. CAI increases induction noise so you can hear the engine do its thing when your pushing on. The above is the reason why I went CAI because it only makes a noise when you want it to (ie upper end of revs). PS if you want proper power - 2JZ conversion!
  8. Louder under full throttle from mid to high end revs. Rest of it is slim to no aural difference. Dont know about econmoy; probably slim to mo differnece either. What are you after for your car? Power?
