LEX51S
You dont know what size wheel you have but you want to know how big a tire you can put on???? help us help you!! well . . . . .ill tell you whats on YOUR car. sports rims are 18inch and come out with a 255 tire on them. you could probably go up to a 265/35/18 on an 8.5inch wide rim. and MAYBE 275 there is other guys on the forum that will be able to correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure thats about as big as you can go. ilv1004s
hm...try some tyre importers i got some Hankook V12 evo's for 240 each in 225/30/20 for my old sports tyres i payed around 280 for KU31's you price is not too expensive but it aint cheap or try www.tirerack.com take advantage of the AUD stronger than the USD it'll probably end up being cheaper to bring your tyres from US and plus they have more range than our small Australian market

I need new rubber and saw this post. I trust your opinion, what do you think of 225/40 fronts and 255/40 rears? A bit narrower on the front and a bit wider on the back. I am chasing continental DW's from tiresales in the US. I am not an extreme driver so extreme handling is not as critical as quiet tyres. p.s. thanks again to CEVU for the maps V17, absolute champion! Natroth
those are standard size tyres so it shouldnt make a difference OK, just standard eh! then the decision is made, 235 and 265 f and r. If it looks bad we will be talking :)
ilv1004s
lol yeah it should be okay it'll fit well what wheels are you fitting them on?
col
background info: i'm talking about a 2006 IS250 SL here with the 17x8" rims can you fit a 245 tyre on the front rims? the stock 225's have worn the inside edge quite bad due to the way a 225 stretchs over the 8" rim... the rears are 245 and look much more natural and have worn far better than the fronts... steering alignment was a concern but I had it checked & its to factory specs... so im thinking of putting 245's on all way round, this way I can rotate them also... does this sound reasonable? some tyre shops are telling me yes, others are saying no it will rub... your thoughts? ilv1004s
i think fitting 245 in the front will cause the inside of the mud guard to touch/rub during cornering. but it'll definately scrub on full lock though

fatjoez
Cool ill do that Do you guys recommend kumho ku39 or is ku31 a good enouh tyre
chrismiass
I have Yokohama Advan tyres on my they are alittle bit more expansive but worth it . Kuhmo's are a very good Tyre though it also depends on your budget . Stay clear of cheaper non name brands as they might be cheap but quality , grip and overall service life of the tyres is very poor .
