Isf Smashed Up

Recommended Posts

Well it had to happen.

Was driving along minding my own business when some ute changed into my lane not seeing me and I slammed on my brakes and hit into him. Damage to mine looked more severe than the other party involved. The front drivers side got all banged up.

It was a good move that I got insured with lexus. It all took less than 10 mins to get a claim number and drop my car off at lexus of chatswood service centre. Car will be out of commission for about 1 month.

Joey (body specialist) went out of his way to explain the process and ran me through what needed to be done and what work will be carried out.

To top it all off he got me into a Mercedes ML63 AMG loaner until the car is fully repaired. Now that's fantastic service.

Car should be brand spanking new when it comes out of the shop.

Ouch, that's a real bummer.

Body work only or is there steering etc being replaced.

I'd be interested to know your thoughts on the ML63, nice unit.

They have yet to inspect the engine bay etc. but they mentioned they will be replacing the fenders, grill, lights etc. most will be replaced and I think they mentioned they will spray paint 1/2 the car.

ML63 is no ISF but the car is quick and has a smooth ride. It's a very nice cruising car. The gear shifts aren't as good as the ISF but still nice.

Ouch!

Sorry to see this adage, hope she ends up as good as before.

Thanks blacky. I've been assured its in good hands:). The lexus service guys know me by now. They know how anal I am with my car and they'll make it all better.

I'm sorry to hear that, mate! But most of all, I'm glad no one was injured. Property can be replaced but lives can't be. There are some shocking drivers on the roads nowadays, sometimes I feel safer driving fast on a track than driving normally on public roads!

Damn..... Sorry to see what happen to your car. Like Elgin said its good to see no one was hurt. Hope they get your beast fighting fit and back on the road asap. PS is your ISF modified and did that cause any issues with insurance?

Bad luck mate.

Is this the body shop that is next to the Chatswood Service Centre?

The Lexus of Chatswood service centre is in Roseville and yes they have their own smash repair right next door.

With the AMG 63, I actually do feel more get up an go compared to my F with headers/joeZ exhaust/air intake. Obviously the F makes more noise but AMG is very quick for something that heavy. I had a full load in the merc and it had no problems powering off the line.

I actually wouldn't mind am AMG now:)

Sorry to see that happen to your baby. :(

Nice to know how good Lexus insurance is too, the last thing you need is extra stress sorting that *BLEEP* out!
