G'day all .... Have 225/40R18 tyres on factory rims on my 2008 IS250x. Anyone experienced any problems (Rubbing/steering) by fitting 235/40R18's on front rims. Fronts are 8" rear are 8.1/2" (with 255's on). Had differing opinions from tyre fitters. thanks for any help. (Basically the 235's are $50 cheaper for the same tyre as they are a common fit for Commodores (Ugh)

shouldnt rub and if it does it wont do it much (maybe on hard lock when doing a 3 point turn).

I have run 245/35 on 19inch rims on the front of mine before and that scrubbed a little when doing hard turning but even then it wasnt bad, so I think that should be fine.

Hi Bacchus,

I'm wondering if you go with 235/40 on the front? any rub? I also had a dilemma on the front tyre size on x wheels.

Can I see pic of your 235/40 tyre/wheel when u had time to take em?
