Navigation system-linked display (if equipped)

This display is visible through the steering wheel and the option in the OM says: "select to display the following navigation system-linked information. •Route guidance Compass display (north-up display/heading-up display)"
Can anybody help with selecting the heading-up display ( i.e. direction of travel rather than always North at top of screen.
Searched all the manuals and can find nothing. Lexus say to take it to a dealer for service (no thanks, don't want to do a 3 hour round trip and hundreds of dollars for what should be a simple adjustment.)

Any help is much appreciated.
