New Member - Currently driving from Iceland to Australia

Greetings all, we are Zahra and Paul and we are currently driving a Lexus RX350 home to Sydney from Iceland. I had noticed doing a google search that someone had posted our link on this site (in videos) so, I thought it would be good to join up ourselves and say hello.

We live in Sydney and currently we are waiting for the car to arrive in England before we fly out to meet it and drive it to Iceland before turning around and driving overland towards Sydney & home in Australia via [Iceland, Norway, Sweeden, Europe, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, India etc.

How did we end up driving & car camping in a Lexus SUV while overlanding 30000kms home to Australia. We have been travellers for more than 30 years and this has been a long-term plan for about that long. Initially we had a Land rover; but it broke down on the test run and it was apparent we needed something else quickly, so while not the most obvious choice, we got the Lexus.

 

I look forward to enjoying the forum but hopefully we will not have to many breakdowns’ questions
