Ride & Handling Quality Between Prestige, Sports And Sports Luxury

Good Day,

Currently evaluating the different models of IS250 - Prestige (16"), Sports (18") and Sports Luxury (17") and wondering if anyone can comment on the different ride and handling quality between these different models. Heard that ride quality is not that great on the 16" as car has been optimized for the 17".

By the way, I am sure the Mark Levinson 14 speakers system is a great sound system. From price performance, is it worth paying for this compared to the premium 13 speakers Pioneer system ?

I have the Sports on the 18" and seems quite fine to me. The extra rubber on the ground gives some extra smoothness to the ride.

You would have to have a more cushion effect on the 16"s and 17"s.

You are not just paying for the bigger tyres to go to the Sports or Sports Luxury. There are heaps of other goodies you are getting for your bucks.

If you want to stay on the Prestege and try and get 18" tyres, you might find it will be a big extra cost from the dealer and not really giving anything for your old 16".

The only true way to find out if there is a noticable difference (to you) is to try all 3 cars on some varying roads.

Best bet is to find a dealer with all three sub-models. Take them all out, sit in all of them, make your mind up then, it's amazing how much a sit and a drive in a car can completely change your opinion (it sure changes mine) of a car.

i reckon from my research & subsequent purchase that the prestige with a sunroof is the best value for money & I am about to add some 18" ROH Vapor wheels with Hankook Silica rubber for around $AU2500 for 1 very brilliant motor car..the 13 spkr system is superb & every Lexus dealer in Oz & KiwiLand will hate me for giving you this tip...so ssssshhhh !!!
