Hey,

Thought that i would introduce myself here...

My name is Jodes and i'm from Brisbane...

I have recently just sold my MKIV Supra (tonight) to make way for an Aristo which i'll now be looking for to import :)

I run an all girls car club in QLD called 'Drivn by Heels' and have been into cars for quiet some time..

the thing that drew me towards the Aristo is mainly the 2JZ and well its something different :)

Anyways... Prolly see some of you around at some stage...

Have a good one

Jodes!

Aaron @ Rampant

www.rampant.net.au

he is awesome, and takes care of everything for you..

He also only takes on a certain number at a time - so he can guarantee to always be on top of everything and give you the best service..

rather then just being another 'number'...

maybe suss out: jzs147.com .au as well.. he is on there, a few people there have gone through him and havent got anything but good things to say about him..

as for pics of my Aristo.. here's one:

Good day everyone,

I guess this could be the defacto "I'm from Brisbane" introduction thread - well, the heading suits me, so I will put my first post here. Just so you know, we don't actually have a LEXUS yet, but my wife and are doing a lot of research right now and really like what we are finding out about the Lexus range. We feel that the RX350 would suit all of out current needs in a vehicle - anyone have one of those?

Anyhow, my name is John, my wife, Cindy and we live at The Gap, any neighbors here? We probably won't be buying until January 2009; anyone know when new models might be available?

Thanks to all who take time to read this and respond, John

Hey John & Cindy,

I bought my wife a RX350 in January last year and found myself driving the RX more than my new merc at the time. I was so impressed with the build quality and after sales service that I went out and traded my car (with only 80 Klms on the clock) yes only 80 on a new GS450h. The only regret I have with the RX350 is I didn't buy the RX400h.

There should be a new RX model on the way as the current shape has been around for quite a few years now. I think Lexus changes their body shape every seven years. Also there should be more features on the new model as the RX did not got best luxury 4X4 this year so Lexus will definately be putting new features in the new RX model.

When the new sahpe comes out I will buy my wife a new RX 400h. With the price of petrol the way it is the hybrid is definately the way to go and after owning a hybrid I have nothing but praise and admiration towards the hybrid technology.

To give you an example I started off on a journey to Sydney from Melbourne with a full tank (which by the way only holds 71 litres max) at Yass I had a quarter tank left so I filled up and drove to Sydney. When I arrived I had three quarters of a tank left. I averaged around 140 klms an hour. So I would assume that if I stuck to the speed limit and was careful with my acceleration I probably would not even have to pull over for fuel.

Good luck with your new purchase

Regards

George

Hi George,

Thanks for the information; I have not considered the hybrid models, being new to LEXUS and all, but now that you mention that, we will look at those as well. Also, I drill for OIL, so as far as I'm concerned, it is job security for me to burn petrol!

We are waiting for the next year's model to arrive; I think it will have all the latest features and more of them, but from what I read on the net, the body shape will not change until 2010, can't wait that long. We have the test drive weekend in August, so I will report back my impressions then, either here or more probably in the RX350 section, drive safe, John

PS - my Blazer with 40 gallon main and 2 x 20 gallon side tanks, takes about 4 times that 71 liters you mention - 288 actually; good for deep desert driving!
