Hi All

I am a newbie LX470 owner and loving every minute of it. I have been blessed with a 1999 LX470. The only downer is that there is no trip computer on these. I searched and came across the Scanguage2 - what a beautiful device!! I bought one and plugged it in only to find it doesn't work - what a disappointment! It APPEARS as though even although the car is OBD2 compliant in the US, it is NOT in Australia - even although they came from the same factory. My basic research tells me the OBD2 port comes direct from the cars ECU. So my conclusion was that if I wanted it to work I needed to get a US LX470 ECU and simply plug it in to my Australian car and it should work. I know this is basic logic but I am concerned it is full of holes! What has also thrown me is that the ECU for the US LX470 is labelled LHD (left hand drive) and the Australian one is RHD (right hand drive). I can't imagine there could be any difference other than the brackets on the unit being attached differently to allow for installation in the left side instead of the right side . . . . or is there more to it? Any information on this would be a great help. Thanks in advance

The 99 Australian LX470 has a completely different ECU to the US spec, as ours here do not run O2 sensors and the the US ones do. the 03 model onwards would be the same as the US.
