  1. The mid pipe off the ISF is better than Nvidia etc simply because of the size. Dual 60mm into 90mm resonator then exit size is 70mm. The 350 in comparison dual 50mm into 60mm in and out the resonator. The rear pipes after the factory T piece are tiny at 40mm or so each. Mine are now 2.5 inch each from the T-Piece to the mufflers. The rear may be restrictive on the 5.0 but way better than the stock IS350 mufflers. The main reason was looks and keeping it quiet without the dreaded Commodore V6 farty sound. With the tune,HF cats and exhaust, power increase was more than 28 so I am more than happy with that. -4 tenths and nearly +4 mph is awesome. Can't wait for the PPE headers to arrive.....
  2. Hey everyone, More progress on my car. Got the ISF exhaust fitted. The secondary cats were deleted and the new Gesi 2.5 inch hi-flow cats are now upfront just behind the first join. Mod list so far is; * Genuine F-Sport intake * ISF factory exhaust mid-pipe and rear mufflers. * RR-Racing Tune * PPE Headers (not fitted yet, arriving in June I hope) Sound is quit nice. Very quiet (silent) at highway speeds and a nice note at lower speeds. Downside is that the rear floor is different on the ISF to the IS350, and the left cross over pipe hits the floor hard, so I have to get that remade (this Wednesday) Went to the track Saturday (15th) and my best was a 13.351 @ 103.80 mph. Very happy with that. 60' best was 2.001. There is another T&T this coming Saturday, so hoping to see a 13.20 if the DA is low enough. I have had 8 runs with the stock exhaust and F-Sport intake. I had 5 runs with the tune and ISF exhaust. Using the averages for each, I have picked up 0.414 of a second over the 1/4 and mph is up 3.14 since the tune and exhaust upgrade. That is pretty good I think. The car should run a 13.20 @ 104+ if I get a good launch and change gear at the right time. When I ran the 13.351, I messed up and ran the limiter hard in 3rd hard before changing to 4th. Using a simple 1/4 mile calculator, the car is up about 28.5 hp just with the tune and the exhaust. So with the PPE headers, I hope another 15 - 18 ?? That would make it hit the 100 hp/litre or 350 hp at the engine and maybe that elusive 12 second time. I may borrow some sticky tires to help so I can launch harder. I have attached some pics of the car with the new bar cover 😊
  3. Update on my latest adventure at the drag strip. PB 13.62@101.92. DA was 1849 feet, so not ideal (hot and humid) Brisbane summers suck like a Hoover. Next race will be the end of May and the middle of July (Winter for us) so I may get that sub 13.5 target. Car is stock except for the genuine F-Sport intake, fuel is BP98 Ultimate and using Bitron fuel and oil additives. Since owning the car, it has improved from an initial 5.71s 0-100 km/h to 5.28s 0-100 km/h, both tested by the same VBOX Sport. In mph, that is a 4.95s 0-60 mph which I am happy with. So the combination of the air cleaner, better fuel and the Bitron additives that really work, seems to have helped. I am going to pull the pin on a RR Racing tune as PPE headers are stupid $$$ in Australia and not worth the dollars for the improvement.
  4. Took the new Lexus out to Willowbank Raceway to run it over the 1/4 mile. Best of the night was 13.73 @ 100.67 mph. Hot day (28 degrees Celsius) or 82F and humid. Engine bay heat soak was something of an issue, so that is something to control in future runs. Getting off the line is easy. No burnout, just in sport mode, ABS and VSC disabled, 1,500 on the converter and nail it. A little chirp when I did the 13.7 and best 0-100 km/h time of 5.61. Still learning how best to launch the car. I have done a 5.47 0-100 so I think there is a 13.5 if I get the right conditions. Love the car and it is a gem. 85,000km and one owner. Really impressed with the Dragy app. So very close to the track times, a couple were identical in other runs. Next meeting is the 27th. Uploaded the video. For some reason the sound was not recorded. Car is stock except for a F-Sport intake from the US. Sound is awesome (it's true) 🙂 2012 Lexus IS350 F-Sport * Dragy Test * 1/4 Mile * Willowbank Raceway * 13.7 The runs were; 1: 13.907 @ 101.37 mph 2: 14.113 @ 99.2 mph (Lots of heat soak) 3: 13.730 @ 100.67 mph (After a good 45 minute cool down) 4: 13.965 @ 99.38 mph.
  5. Hi Janet, I did pay to have the dash and console fitted. Our dash was very bad. We do not have the sat nav. The dash was $230.81, the center console was $155.31, so $386 for parts. The air bag cover was repainted, $80. Labour was.....$800. So the total was $1,304.12. with GST. There was no help from Lexus regarding helping with the price, but having worked in parts for Toyota and others for 18 years....the dash and console were really cheap. Maybe I got trade price I am not sure. The big cost is labour....it is a big job. The best part is the car is as new inside. It looks great. We got this done in November 2017, so hopefully the parts are still available. Toyota / Lexus have a pretty good support for older models. Hope this helps, Mike
  6. Hi everyone, My name is Mike and I live in the south-side of Brisbane. I bought a very neat IS200 about 18 months ago. It was perfect except for the "sticky dash" so I went to Lexus of Springwood and they fitted a brand new dash and center console. The interior now looks as new. The car in general is probably one of the best around, even though it has 211,000km now. Next upgrade will be a IS350 F Sport, or if I can stretch, a 2010+ ISF. Love the brand and quality of fit and finish, and the particular dealership I now get my car serviced at are amazing.
