Ipod & Standard Head Unit
jasestu replied to Mike_in_Akld's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 / Toyota Altezza Club
I was determined to keep the factory head unit and have an AUX input... After months of investigation it was much more effective to buy a mid-range aftermarket one. Not only did it give me more audio control, it also plays mp3 cds and has the desired aux input for my iPaq... Have a look at my site (in my sig below) there's a link there to a more active New Zealand Altezza forum... -
Very nice! I was originally looking at a blue one... Got red in the end (see my website link below)

Ahhh, colour "3N3'... Have a look at mine: My Webpage Follow the forum link from my site and you'll find Frylai and the parts you need. -
Hi Budgie, where you from? Good spotting, camber can be an issue on Altezza from factory... Just make sure you get a full alignment as part of the package from whoever you buy from. :) You going manual or auto?

Last post prior to yours was July 20 2004... Good luck getting a response!

Hey icecrew, congrats on being member number 666!! :) Where ya from? -
Tee hee, and looking at my sig when I was last posting I didn't even have an Altezza yet!

The only stuff from these forums I've been able to see for the past few months has been what's stored in Google's cache... Interesting to be able to post again...

Just A Teaser
jasestu replied to greeneyes's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 / Toyota Altezza Club
I was talking with Graham Cameron (of Car City Court Tauranga) today and he was telling me about a friend of his that was setting an Altezza up for the Targa. I'm guessing it must be the same person then... -
I don't have one yet (still searching the market for just the right one), so the ad isn't completely wasted...

Sounds like a nice machine... There are certainly advantages to picking up a car that way, as long as you can have someone reliable do an inspection. It's a lot of money to 'risk', hence why most people are prepared to pay the extra $$$ for something that they can physically see etc etc... I'll have to see if I've got any contacts in Japan to inspect that vechical... :)

I'm heading over to Waihi this week, so I might take a hoon through the gorge to Paeroa... Gotta be a good stretch of road for test driving an Altezza...
-
I'm also still in the hunt for an RS200, haven't seen any particularly good examples in the past couple of months, but still have my eyes open... If anyone knows of some in the Bay of Plenty region please point me in their direction... Cheers, Jason.

Trying To Decide...bmw Or Altezza
jasestu replied to Cash Free's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 / Toyota Altezza Club
Typically road users judge BMW drivers... When in a BMW you tend to notice that people aren't so keen to let you merge. An Altezza inspires curiosity, a BMW encourages one-fingered salutes…. -
Thanks Greeneyes, that sounds like good advice. I saw what seemed like a really nice specimen at Bay Nissan in Tauranga (apparently they regularly import Altezzas) and was tempted to jump right in. However common sense got the better of me and I decided to trial the market for 6 months before getting to carried away. And besides, test driving a stack of Altezza's sounds like a great concept to me. :D I will have to catch up with the folks in Paeroa, taking them for a flick through the gorge to my old hometown of Waihi would be a good way to trial the handling...

Name: Jason Location: Bay of Plenty - Whakatane Ride: Nissan Primera P10 TE But wait a minute, that's not an Altezza?! Yeah, that's right - currently looking at getting into one tho... Any recommendations are welcome. Plan at the moment is to obtain a tidy 6-speed '98-'99 RS200Z...

Howdy Folks... Another newbie here. Not yet an owner, but currently researching the market for RS200Z's... Hope to join the ranks soon - I've seen a nicely spec'ed manual in Tauranga, but I don't want to leap into a decision until I've spent a few months understanding them a little better, tho it is very tempting to just grab it now... ;) Cheers, Jason.
