  1. I was @ BNe motor show too. I was greeted by a very nice saleperson (Chris James) from Indooroo dealership. had a a bit of chat with him abuot various models of Lexus. had a seat in LS460 too. according to Chirs. the red IS250 = special edition. only 3 in QLD. the one in Indooroo showroom= base on prestege model with option pack . and it's an AUTO. I personally think red IS look very sexy. whenever I drove pass the dealership,, I keep looking at that car.. Rx= more suitable for family for sure. IS = good for couples or personal use. much fun to drive than RX , just my 2 cents
  2. totally agree. I guess 16"s are good to those who wants more comfy ride or dont care about the look of wheels but I think 16" inch definately too small for most enthusiasts. offer customers options of factory upgrade should be the way to go.
  3. hi Gav. where r u located? I think different countries have different item codes for some parts. if u r in AUS.. Lexus part number for high mount spoiler=08150 53820=
  4. Hello black200. this thread was started June 04, I think that's before u got ur ride. I always like leguna kits. suit IS very well! SSML
  5. RS200 is not available in Australia from any new car dealership. u can only get Lexus IS200 , which has the same engine as Altezza AS200 in JP. I know that from ~ Oct 2001, there is a facelift, change includes: 6 airbags (2 additional curtain bags), chromed exhaust pipe tips, different grille, and the darker tail lights for dark colour external colour. in side the cabin :the pre 2002 model has 2 tone dash, where as post-2002 only has black all around.
  6. Japanese people pronunce something like "A-Ru-Te-Za". that's what I gathered from Best Motoring Videos.
  7. Hi Matt: I used to use those suction roof ports for surfboards (2) on my parents' ES300. u can just position 4 suction ports (about 15cm in diameter) on the appropriate positions, and the use the straps included to tight down. Although it's not as convience as the traditional fixed roof racks(b/c u need to remove that when u r surfing so other people wont steal them), but it doesnt cause any possible damages to the paint. and can use on any type of cars. SSML
  8. Hi Manic 35: I have seen an IS200 with roof rack, but I didnt have a chance to get a close look to find out what brand. what are u going to carry with ur roof racks? if only carry something light, u can consider "suction roof carrier" they are removal appliances which u only put on when needed, (a set of 4 suction ports) Does it make a sense to u? SSML
  9. HI Thunderbird2: wouldnt it be v slow to do 2 throw action from 1st to 2nd? I might give it a try. how about clutch? do u release clutch pedal when gear stick is in neutral? Lexus has great aftersales service. RX330 is in v high demand in BNE, havent see any RX330 service loan car yet. 70,000km should be a minor service, 80,000 would be a major one, and expect a huge bill for that. Just had my 40,000km last week, (consider major),$603.69 AUD, no wheel alignment/balance upon my request, I provided engine oil meself...... but replaced many things. SSML
  10. Hi thunderbird. How do find out if the pertrol station has put ethanol in PULP? I thought PULP should have no ethanol?? esp Optimax and ultimate. and also what do you mean by "go with major BP or Shell"? Do you mean go the LARGE SIZE petrol station? or big brand station? thanks SSML
  11. 1G-Fe 6 cylinder engine only has VVTi, for inlet valve only :( nearly every major car maker has similar feature as VVTi, or Vtec, but just with different names, e.g Vanos, double Vanos for BMWs, SSML
  12. HiLextacy: Ur IS300 has VSC rather than TRC(Vehicle stability control) which is a more sophisticated system than Traction control. VSC is equvilant to Mercedes' ESP, BMW's DSC I think TRC basicly working on rear wheels(driving wheels) only, where VSC also works on the front brakes to control the whole dynamic of the car by using motion sensors. I think IS300 only has "VSC OFF" button rather than "TRC OFF" button. But I think car computer might still override and kicks in during extreme condition. Beeping sound indicates VSC is working.. TRC doesnt make any sound, only flashes light SSML
  13. I agree that 95 fuel or even just 92 ulp should not cause engine to run unsmooth. I have put 92ulp in loan car (Is200) no problem, the label inside the fuel cap cover says "unleaded petrol" . However, I have always used 98 octane fuel since I got the car new. I used to fill BP ultimate b/c it was only 7cents dealer than ULP ,whereas Shell Optimax was 9cents dealer than ULP. Now BP ultimate 98 also 9cents more than ULP, and with Shell, u get 4cents off with Coles dockets + Fly Buys points....... So I go to Shell now :P SSML
  14. Hi all: I found some rattling noise from rear end of the car, I think it the plastic cover of the 3rd brake light (the one on the middle on the rear shelf). Could anyone tell me how to remove the cover? Do I need any tool to unscrew something? or just pull it in certain angle? SSML
  15. u can remove the grille without removing the bumper. With Is200 (2002) , there are some steel screws need to be removed first. not all plastic rivots.
