  1. As Danslex mentioned the fuel filter costs about $130 and is situated in the tank, hence the removal of the rear seat is required.(relatively high labour cost)Interestingly I was in the uk last week and rang a lexus dealer to see what they charged for one.(I`ve done about 75000kms)He came back with about $70 (for the petrol engine) and asked why I wanted it as he had never sold one.Apparently over there it isn`t in the service schedule to be changed at any mileage and wondered why its different.
  2. I changed my front pads after 65000kms (still probably 10000kms left in them) and used TRW.Now get a lot less dust.
  3. There is only one dealer in Perth and they are asking $150 for a set of front pads and hate to think what a disc would be.The only pads i could otherwise source here were bendix ultimate for the same price but ended up getting trw (old pommy Lucas)for $90.If anyone wants them i have the specs (max/min thickness)for the discs and pads.
  4. If you aren`t in a rush,look on e-bay,I got a strip of 5 cr1632 for $8 delivered.
  5. Thanks for that Korvan,I pick up a guy for work so am moving before he`s done up his belt with the associated loud beeping---no more, great. Its a pity the parking sensors aren`t as noisy as that, can`t here mine with the radio/cd playing.
  6. Thanks for that Gerald,I have an 06 prestige with the standard plastic sill inserts,do you know if you just replace them with the illuminated ones or modify the plastic to fit them in.Also i assume as someone wrote i can splice into the door light wiring as mine won`t have the connectors fitted.
  7. Hi, Where did you guys buy the illuminated sill plates from and how much were they. For those of you interested in the body kit from sewell`s there are some good photo`s on fitting and the finished job on the clublexus web site.
  8. Does anyone know a good tyre gloss product that will give a lustrous, shiny black finish?Have tried several sprays/liquids but none have produced a deep glossy black effect.
  9. Hi Alan, Prior to buying my is250 9 mths ago I nearly bought the top of the range aurion(about $50000).This model is actually higher spec`d than the base 250 with sat nav, leather, rear camera, push button start, sunroof, bluetooth, xeon lights etc altho the sound system is nowhere near as good. With all these toys it is better value and it has the bigger 3.5 v6 engine but is front wheel drive. They also have a cheap fixed price service for 3-4 yrs.Obviously being a Toyota its a good car but it isn`t in the class of a Lexus.I`m very happy that I chose the 250 instead as its more of a drivers car with the rear wheel drive & so quiet.Much nicer shape as well unless you want a larger car.Re the rattle/noise aspect, mine did start but the dealer fixed that up in a couple of mins(adjusted something on the passenger side seat)now fine.I get a slight dash noise over rough roads occasionally but doesn`t bother me.All in all a much more refined car looks great & drives supremely well.Rob
  10. Called in at the dealers a week ago and saw the after sales manager. As soon as I mentioned a creek on the left hand side he said he thought he knew what it was & dashed out.10 minutes later he was back & reckoned it was all fixed--something vibrating on the passenger side seat, now lovely & quiet. He also knew about the dashboard rattle, tho mine is ok.
  11. Anyone tried to inhibit the seatbelt warning alarm with the ''fix'' from the pommy web site.(holding tacho reset in etc).I`ve tried it but it doesn`t seem to work.
  12. Mine is a 12/06 with about 8000k`s(no moonroof)and the passenger side door leather(i think) has started to "'creak'" when i turn left around a corner, otherwise lovely & quiet when i`m cruising straight along a road. Will be booking it in the dealers in the next couple of weeks. Will also ask them if they have heard about a software fix for the speedo.
  13. Hi there, Yes i recently checked my speedo as wondered why everyone was passing me on the freeway.Sure enough my gps showed me to be about 8 kms out at 100 kph.ie need to be showing 108 kph when actually doing 100k`s & 66k`s when doing 60.Sure enough no big deal once you know except for one minor? consequence of this----you will be clocking up more k`s (albeit only 6-8%)than you actually travel.Have not as yet queried my dealer on it.H
