  1. Audi LED daytime lights are integrated into the car from the factory. A) It dims when the indicator lights are on, therefore making the indicator lights more apparent. B ) The LED lights can only be ordered with xenon lights therefore they complement each other. C) It dims when the parking lights are on therefore making the park light stand out more D) It can be switched off from the Audi MMI computer system, therefore making it harder to turn off which is a good thing. E) It lights up as an entry light and can be programmed to stay on longer or shorter from the Audi MMI computer system. F) It is high quality stuff that last thousands of hours. G) The Audi headlamp with the LED is a piece of art. h) It is a $2700 option on the cheaper A4 and standard on the upmarket A4. The point is why would you put cheap LED to ruin your beautiful IS250 and try to be a bad Audi copycat. You are better off with Xenon lights.
  2. I used to own a is250 manual and it took me weeks to get use to the differnt clutch contact point from other manuals. Once I mastered it, I really enjoyed driving it. Having driven both the auto and manual is250, I still think the manual is better suited to the is250 engine. The is250 power doesn’t really deliver unless you rev it up high. The auto just don’t get it right when you want the power the way you want it. It’s seems like it is gear hunting when you drive it rough. If people say the is250 manual is like a truck or whatever, the auto is worst. Just google it and you find out how crap the is250 auto is. I am disappointed the manual is no longer available in Australia. This will rule me out buying another lexus is250. Technology has made the Auto .01 seconds faster than a manual in a straight line for most modern cars. But if you want to be stylish in your driving and you have passion in driving, manual car is No one. Paddle shift behind the steering wheel has no soul. It’s a gadget really. How many times a year do you auto drivers use it? Not many I guess. I can understand why Lexus Australia would drop the manual. Look who is buying it? Mostly boring people and no idea what a clutch is. BTW those boring people are not on this forum because they are not car enthusiast. I am proud that I used to own a Lexus manual. It is a beautiful car and it is exciting to drive a 155KW V6 engine with a manual stick. I am sure in years to come, my old is250 manual will be popular for the below 25 year old. They will put 20 inch wheels on it, install plastic wings and lower the suspension. Good on them for doing it. They wont do it on an auto. The manual will become prize and a collector’s item while the old auto will be purchased by the poorer ultra dead beat boring people. Like a glorify Camry. My current car is above the LCT and manual and I know in a few years to come, there may not be any more above LCT manual. That will really p me off. Long live the is250 manual and I hope it will be available in the next generation of is250. BTW a few teenagers in my street are taking manual car license. I am really happy to see young people wanting to drive a manual car because it is cool to be a manual driver!
  3. CR1632 is 16mm x 3.2mm. Hard to find, I ended up buying CR1620 3V 16mm x 2.0mm for $1.00 from a cheap shop and it worked. How much does Lexus charges???
  4. You should have got the 6 speed manual! I found my is250 manual to be brilliant and very enjoying to drive. There are not many 60K+ cars that pair a manual with a V6. I am so glad Lexus still have this option, I wont buy it otherwise. I read reviews saying the is250 is better suited to a manual gearbox.
  5. The Remote Keyless Entry of the IS250 is definitely a handy thing to have. However, - In the parking station that I use, I sometimes have to double park and I have to leave the remote on gap of the bonnet near the front windscreen. One day in a hurry to leave, I forgotten the remote was at the bonnet and I was able to start the car and off I went. Luckily for the 5KM that I travelled, the remote did not fly off. I only realised the remote was at the Bonnet when I couldn’t start the car the next time. - In another occasion, my partner had the remote in her handbag, but I forgotten to bring mine. As she left the car, the car started to beep to remind the remote has left the car, but she rushed to catch a train and I was left stranded and unable to switch off the engine otherwise I couldn’t start the engine again. - I didn’t switch off the engine after I parked my car in a very busy road. I did not hear the beep as I walked away because the road was very noisy. The car engine was left on for a long time. - Sometimes it is easier to lock the car from the remote, but I have a habit now to walk to the door find that button in the dark and lock the car. A bit more exercise doesn’t hurt. These types of mishaps happen every now and then in our modern lives and it would be naive to think it won’t happen to you. I wish my next car does not have this gimmick.
  6. Why bother? once your car leaves the show room, it will just depreciate whether there is a scratch or not. I cant stand wrapping up remote controls, mobile phones, psp, and now is250 satnav. Whats next, your 65" LCD? It looks cheap like glad wrap and it distorts the view a bit too. Get over it......
  7. Are you referring to the models outside Australia? The Prestige and Sport don’t come with the SatNav as standard. The prestige option cost $8,188 +GST and sport cost 6,600 + GST. Sport Lux is the only model that includes the SavNav package. If you add the SatNav option to the Prestige, you will immediately lose $9006.8 according to the Redbook. This is right up the alley of European cars. The official Lexus Aust. web site has a list of Accessories that will Pimp your ride. They are cool and I dream about having them. If you don’t mind losing $9006.8, might as well spend another 10K of Lexus accessories starting with the tow bar $1500+GST. Not me though, family want a holiday.
  8. The original paint done by Lexus has three coats. I hope we lexus owners have the right insurance company that will allow us to use a panel beater to do three coats of paint
  9. [disappointed with the limited headroom] Did you forgotten to adjust the seat's height? Did the Chatswood salesman remind you to? [gear upshifts progressed too quickly... ] [foot operated parking brake... ] You should have brought a manual. The manual has proper handbrake. Driving the manual is much more fun. However you do have the levers at your steering wheel, so you can pretend to be a formula one driver. Maybe you should have brought a Nissan Maxima. It has the CVT auto. The CVT is a step less transmission. It provides virtually limitless number of gear ratios for smoother acceleration. I wonder if the next IS250 will adopt this new technology. [idiot-proof navigation system,] The SATNAV don’t have the flexibility to upload point of interest, speed camera, customise voice straight from the Internet. Its kind of boring without it.
  10. When it comes to trade in time, the dealer will use the red book to value the car and they dont care if the SAT/NAV/Reverse Camera/Mark Levinson/sun roof are installed or not. . If you are thinking about buying a new is250 bare this in mine. The extra $8000 may be me all written off very quickly. You might get more if privately selling it, but I would be sceptical to invite strangers to test drive my lexus and then trust them for a $45,000+ potential doggy cheque.
  11. Smoother ride. I have after market 18" . I couldn't notice any ride differences between 16" and 18".
