yeah its an import, is an aftermarket cd player hard to install?

i just bought a 1991 soarer, and i cant work the cd player or radio. i put a cd in and it spits it back out after about 5 seconds and i cant tune the fm radio above 90fm? it's very frustrating, although the engine is music to my ears. cassette deck works fine though...
