  1. I think you need to take out the whole tray. It is held in by some very flimsy plastic clips, which break easy....as I found out when changing my rear speakers ;)
  2. I have recently removed and replaced the factory headunit, in doing so making the GPS system inoperable. I am looking to find something to fill the useless space taken up by the remote control holder (located next to the handbrake) and the screen. :D Has anyone else removef these parts and if so, what did you end up replacing them with??? :P Also, how difficult was it to remove the centre console to get the remote housing out??? ;)
  3. I just fitted Panasonic 3-Way 6x9's to the rear and they seemed to fit straight in with no need to fit a spacer I also fitted Soundstream SPL 60 components to the front......they did need a spacer.....however if you dont want to keep your factory speakers at all you can use these as spacers with a small modification..... :D
  4. Aaah I see.....it maybe just the shock sensor to set too sensitive then ;)
  5. As far as I know, none of the Altezza's have a factory alarm system. It is always good to upgrade anyways
  6. The water may be running off the roof and down the bonnet sill. Just check where the pin switch is under the bonnet. If it is in the sill, have a look to see if it rusty or not. This will tell you if has been exposed to water. The only way the alarm could be going off. is if you have a microwave sensor installed. If the field is set too large on the microwave, rain/water can set it off. :D
  7. What part of the car are you washing when the alarm goes off??? If it when you are washing the bonnet, the most likely cause of this is that the bonnet pin switch has been fitted in an area where water can get to it, and hence causing the pin switch to earth out and set the alarm off. B) All you need to do is move the pin swtich to a dry location and this should hopefully solve the problem. :D
  8. I belive so. Most factory amplified systems aren't fantasic in the power department (maybe on 10-15W). I think the amplifier is the black box with the heatsink on the side of it, but i found my speaker wires down further in the kick panel. I decided to run new power and accesory wires to the headunit, as I didn't want to chop the plug, so you may have to do this unless ou buy the adaptor plug.
  9. I just installed the Panasonic CD-C9800 (70W x4) Headunit and what a difference!!! Still running factory speakers in the front until this weekend until I change them over to Soundstream components. ;) Because most of the altezza's run amplified systems, you usually need to run a set of speaker wires down to the passenger kick panel and them join all the speakers there. Otherwise you can buy an aftermarket adaptor which uses the amp thru the new headunit RCA leads, but I have found that this not ideal, as the factory amp is not that strong
  10. It seems like Unorthodox Racing are the only ones making lightened pulleys. The set that they do make for the Lexus is for the 3.0L engine, so am not too sure if it is compatible with our 2.0L engines. http://www.unorthodoxracing.com/ :D
  11. I was reading up on one the websites about lightened crank pulleys and pulley sets that are available for the Altezza/IS300. :) They claim gains of between 5-12HP from just changing the crank pulley on a n/a engine. :) Has anyone fitted one of these to their vehicles, and if so, did you notice such increases in HP??? :)
  12. Do you have any pics of this filter? Also to have in stock any replacement filters for the factory air box??? B)
  13. :D This may be a silly question, but what exactly does the SNOW button do??? I didnt get a manual with my car, hence am curious as to what this button does!!! :D
  14. Cherz for the reply, you have put my mind at ease.....i was getting concerned for a second there.
  15. I have recently bought a tiptronic RS200 Altezza. When I accelerate through the rev range I get a very strong/buzzing vibration thru the accelerator pedal at about 3000 revs. It disappears when I accelerate further, but does make driving the car somewhat uncomfortable at around the 3000 rev range. Has anyone heard of this problem before, and if so, is it serious enough to warrant me taking my car in for a check, or could it be part of the VVti system??? Thanks
