The auto-electrician I went to, took the whole front bumper down and the headlights units out, solder, drill, seal it and stuck all the wirings with tapes and thus spending 3 hours on the process. They said to assure the warning lights do not appear on the dash and prevent condensations from occurring. I have not informed them of all these I have read in clublexus. Maybe they know their stuff? Anyway, as long as you buy a smaller K, the chances on putting on glare and attracting the wrong attention is minimized. Using 4300k to 5000k. Besides there's this small knob on the right side of the instrument panel above the fuel and boot switch, it has numbers of the angles you want to project your light. Put it to medium so most light shines on to the road more than the street signs. That should do, I think.

Before I went down to the dealer, I tested the passenger with a tester driver. No sign of live current or maybe the tester's broken I thought so I just took it in. After the sad return from the service site, I brought the car to the auto-electrician I went for install of HID and they say they can fix it only after I book an appointment. Labour charge is 90 an hour, that's why I didn't want to go there initially. Can you picture the cost I spent on just installing the lights last month? 3 hours. It costs more than the lights.

I just went to Sydney City Service department and the service was not as good as the sales. The reception made me sound like I owe an apology from budging in without an appointment and when I state the name of my dealer and that I have spoken to him about it. She called him and asked him to stick to the rule of booking by saying, "You know the rules, Thomas" in a sarcastic one and not to ask customer to just walk-in like this. When a serviceman comes down and grabs my key to check with what's the issue of the plates not lighting up even though the dome lights are on auto and they bring illuminated. He came down ten minutes later and said they couldn't understand why they won't lit up. Maybe its broken, go change another pair and come back again.

I've done all I can do, now I'll attached a few pictures and I might be suspecting what B_390_LU said maybe right on the prestige and not on the Sports Luxury as I have seen the 08 models with the white ones attached on and the 07 with the blue ones. Even though I really don't want to spend more on labour charges for car audio shops, is there anything else I missed out? Pictures on a plate attached on the driver's side, a picture of the passenger's side with the connectors connected and still not lit up, a picture of the door turned on to automatic. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3017/255515...46c3c60.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3171/255516...0da9372.jpg?v=0 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2358/255516...7191f80.jpg?v=0

That would be interesting but I just bought a set of illuminated sill plates and was trying to fit it in just now, however, I can't get it light up! Does anyone know why? I have the lights switched to auto-on when doors ajar and have the sill plates both white connectors connected. I'm having the X edition so that's 2007 prestige model.

I had it done for 550AU at NSW Brookvale, I took the picture of the visible area and not the rest for I didn't know anyone would be interested. There you go, http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2388/245183...9fb1f2c.jpg?v=0 Do you see a fine curvy line under the reflection of the red vertical pipelines, next to the white pipelines. That's the protector.
