  1. i have a celsior that is already vip would post some pics up but cant work out how to do it i agree this seems pretty dead i think the moderators need to be a bit more proactive in getting the word out about it as i have had my car for over 2 yrs and only found this sight last week! even tho i am always searching for stuff about these cars i am always checking out www.boostcruising.com and www.mobileelectronics.com.au but rarely post as not really relevant to my car
  2. parents both got goodie baskets dont know what was in them for both their lexus' (is250 mum rx330 stepdad) and the dealership manager personally gave follow up calls to ensure the cars were going well and they were happy and had no questions regarding the cars a week after purchasing. after every service the cars are detailed with a small box of guylian choccies in the centre console my boss also has a lx470 i think about an 2000 model which was bought second hand at auction and when it had a recall (brakes i think) a couple of months ago they fixed the problem detailed the car and gave him choccies as well even though he wasnt the original owner and doesnt use them for servicing. all this was done at Lexus of Southport on the gold coast
  3. i have a 19 yr old celsior (japanese ls400) my mum has an is 250 and rx330 prior to the is250 was an audi tt which was so dissapointing she went back to lexus (before the tt was one of the first is200's in australia). To expect a car to not have anything to ever go wrong with it is just crazy, and to tell me that for $60000 it should be perfect is insane as well. 60k is no longer a stupidly large amount of money to spend on a car remember that the IS range in ENTRY level. Sure its frustrating that things go wrong (mums had the key finding issue which lexus replaced the whole computer which controls it), but i work on cars every day and can tell you that from a build perspective lexus is by far superior than either BMW or MB. My car is the first run celsior and it is still going unbelieveably well. The only issues come from the extensive modifications that i myself have done (over 80k worth more than an is250 is new) but compare it to a 20 yr old Merc or BMW and the Lexus is by far the better car. So for the people out there who can put up with a few rattles and take it back to the dealer once it is sorted you will have many years of enjoyable motoring because i would put money on it your lexus will be driving long after the beemers and mercs. theres my little rant but i cant believe a few rattles causes so much grief. try putting 20k of stereo in and see where the rattles come from hehehe
  4. hey man i have a celsior have had the cats removed and from the cats back replaced with 2.5 inch twin system with one muffler each side. it is currently (nearly 2 yrs now!) dumped just past the diff due to replacing the rear bar with a body kit and i unbolted the rear section as it didn't fit. the car now has a very nice v8 note to it although if u dont want it too loud in the car i would suggest one more muffler each side to tone it down a bit. i have 20's on mine but had to pump the guards to fit and when i fitted the aftermarket air bags i cut the wheel arches completely off lowered them an inch and widened them 2 inches so that the wheels tuck under the guards without hitting
