ilv1004s - Thanks for confirming. I will try to fix the Original Sat Nav touch screen first. Probably at the same time, I will try to fix the DVD so I can watch it while driving. Probably for passenger.

ilv1004s, Are you sure it is compatible with the IS250? And can I watch the DVD movie when the car is in motion? I know my current Sat Nav can't at the moment. I saw a few DIY on how to get around it by plugging socket to ground. Thanks.

Hi Lushpuppy, I did google as well and found a DIY fix on the Sat Nav touch screen. I contacted Lexus of Chatswood and they asked me to bring it in for them to take a look at it. Unfortunately, my car is already out of warranty. So definitely, they won't replace the whole unit for free and probably end up costing to fix it. I will bring the car to the dealer and see what they have to say. If it is costing over $2K, I will probably try to DIY the touch screen myself. Thanks for your feedback, Brandon

Lexus Nerd, Yes, I would prefer to have my screen replace or DIY fix as suggested from some of the users in the US Forum. Probably end up costing me around $150 rather than costing me an arm and leg something like $2500 to replace the whole units. Brandon.

Yes the buttons on the side screen still work fine. It just the touch screen is not responding.

Hi all, I'm sorry if this issue has been addressed before. My Sat Nav screen is frozen or not respondind. It is stuck at the "press agree to the warning" box and nothging works. The screen is not responding to any touch menu. How can I reset my navigation? Does any here have the same problem. Please help. Thanks. Brandon

Hey sPy, That is a ripped off. I had mine front disc rotors replaced recently with a new brake pad including labour and they quote me for $800. This was down at the Lexus of Perth. I really like the OEM disc rotors and brake pad because they offer a really good brake when applying a sudden stop. You must have clocked up a lot of KM to get Zero FBT. I know for 25,000KM, you still need to pay 11% of FBT. That's great that you are paying Zero FBT. I think you should consider IS-F since you are paying 0 FBT. Just a thought.

You can't go wrong with both colour. For me I would probably stick with the black as it is look more sicker than the Pearl white. Forget about upgrading to Prestige 2009 X. Go for the IS-F. :P Good luck with the changeover price.

The service are great in Perth but the charges are so damm expensive compare to eastern State. Wish there are more dealers in Perth. How much do they charge in the eastern states? My average service is around 600 or so bucks for a standard one, plus more if something extra needs to be done. I don't think it's too bad, given you get a free rental Lexus, and comparing to what they charge for a service across the road at other premium brands... My car's on a novated lease though, so I gotta spend X amount of money on the running costs regardless, otherwise I get slugged with FBT. But yes, it would be good if there were more lex dealers here, little competition never hurt anybody :) I got mine service at Perth as well but I thought I gave the Lexus Dealer at Eastern State a call to compare the price because I'm from Eastern State. The noise usually happend in the morning when you perform a cold start-up. It sounds like a grinding noise and it last around 1-2 seconds. When that noise happend you will notice. So I guess you probably won't hear it yet. I think it started to rattle when you have around 20,000KM. It is worth getting the dealer to have look because it is still under warranty. ;) cheers

Bluey, I just had a done last Friday 17-Apr-09. The noise are no longer there now. My service was due at that time so I just mentioned to them about the rattle noise. The noise always happend in the morning. Drive me insane with the rattle noise. They will fix it for free as the car is still under warranty. I asked them if I could have the ISF as loan car but they didn't have any.

Had this startup rattle problem for 5 months now and finally took it in. I told them about the problem and they fixed for free as it is a known problem for 06 and 07 model. I even printed out the rattle document and bring along just in case they didn't believe me. :P . They gave me a RX350 loan car as it requires the whole full day to complete. The noise are no longer there now. Feel like a new car again....

Hamish, I noticed you have the 2006 model. Save your money by overriding with access to the secret menu. Just have to do it everytime you start the car. Here is how to do on you tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLFDvaeT7NA Please note: This is not possible on 07+ model. The only way to do is hot wiring/cabling which affects your warranty. Welcome Hamish, I am not sure what you meant by unlocking DVD and Bluetooth. I think you mean to pair your phone bluetooth with your DVD. The default password is 1111. Your Lexus Dealer would have given the demo on how to do this. Regards, Brandon
