  1. Thanks for the answers guys Sorry but whereabouts is the sticky, like in what part in the car? Thanks
  2. I have a few questions 1) I live in Sydney and I am wondering how much is the service for 45,000 km? 2) In the past year or so, I only probably driven several thousand KM since I spent 1/2 of the time in oversea, can I opt to service it later, say next year or something? Because I feel it doesn't really justify for a service considering I have driven low KM and that I have serviced end of last year 3) My partner find the seatbelt alarm annoying whenever there is a beep beep sound until the sealt beat is on. Is there a way to disable it? Thanks
  3. Thanks for your suggestion I actually just tried again and the remote worked ....well it kinda worked (thank god it didn't rain today or otherwise it will probably delay till tomorrow again). At least the remote had responded so I quickly locked all of the windows first to avoid all the water flowing through again But there's a few defects already which I kind of expected. The driver's side has 4 controls for all windows right? Apart from my window, basically, the other 3 cannot be opened or closed unless I go to each door and close the window manually. And you know how you just flick once, and it will automatically go all t he way up?? Well for these 3, you actually have to lift the button all the way up until it clsoes The reverse camera is kinda stuffed up. You can see the reverse camera with no problem but the angle for red, yellow, green lines have faults and when you turn the steering wheel, it doesn't follow the lines at all. Also, I tried to unlock\lock by holding the remote for a while and theortically, it should lock or unlock all windows but it does not work at all. The cool\heated front seats works no problem but I haven't tested other things yet as they may still have problems such as the air con? I only went out and drove for a few min just to check whether its no prob but so far so good. I guess there are some areas of the computer thing might affect the whole thing no? When you said: "Aim would be to get as much water out as possible if you already haven't done so. Put a drier in there to evaporate as much water out as possible." You mean whereabouts? Basically the seats I can feel its wet inside so I dunno if it will affect it as it is hard to dry out. I just tried to use the
  4. To be honest, I don;t know if anything is damaged at all until I start the car (whether it is has been fixed or back to normal after drying) and when it does goes back to normal, I hope they are working in order like the speakers, air con, cool\heated front seat etc since the water has been soaked in so I hope they are back in working order. Its basically water damaged, nothing damaged inside in terms of dent or scratches since this is not some kind of hail storm.
  5. The weather is already getting cleared but still not working =( I guess have to wait until 1 or 2 days later until it completely gets dry and it will work back to normal, no? I hope no more rain because it is already bad enough since its public holiday these couple of days and Lexus service dealership or even sales dealership does not open till Tue.
  6. If I am not the first person to have this happen, what was their solution to get it fixed? I am just worried that everything inside are somehow damaged like driving, speakers, air con etc since alot of things got soaked. These few days are public holiday so I have to wait for a couple of days which can kinda fustrate me. Sorry but I am sure what you mean for the 2nd paragrach. You mean, I can go to my dealership and disable that automatic unlock feature???
  7. My car was parked at home and yesterday was raining here and you know when you hold unlock button, it will unlock all the windows and moonroof? Well it happened to me and I guess it's because I sit down with my pocket and the key somehow pressed it for a while when I didn't notice at all But anyways, the next day I wake up, I see all the windows and moonroof all opened and I can see things got wet inside including the speakers, the air con vent (at the back, steering wheel etc. When I tried to unlock it, lock it (using the remote) it had no response at all but you can see the red light on the romote is blinking so I am sure the battery is not flat but it just doesn't respond at all. I used both original and spare remote. The NRMA had came just a while ago to check what was happening and he wasn't really sure about it. He tried to discounnect and reconnected the battery, tried to fiddle with my remote and even ignite the engine (but no response) etc but doesn't work. I think somehow everything got soaked inside and computer shut down, no? Any guys of you had this experience before? If so, what is the solution? Wait till everything is dry inside and then the remote will work back to normal? Or have to take the whole car to the service to fix it? etc Your answer will be very much appreciated Thanks
  8. Thanks for the wordings I am actually based in Sydney The one I got quoted from Lexus dealer i.e. $325, they said it includes cleaning outside, waxing, cleaning the leather, cleaning the interior etc, something like that. He seems to be in a rush since he didn't explain exactly what is included and I even requested a brochure but they had none! But yeah, my car colour is silver and it's not badly swirled really....but I thought its good to keep ti new and clean again But anyways, the recommendation for detailing in Sydney would be greatly appreciated as long as they do it cheap, good and professionally. Thanks
  9. I got this car for around 8 months and I am happy so far. I went for the car wash from a Lexus dealer and I was recommended to do a detailing which will cost $325 and they will do everything from inside to outside. However, when I researched outside from Lexus dealer, basically car detailing cost around 100 something and I am wondering whether there are any differences? I am assuming it's the same job they do just like that they repair cars, do car wash and detail would be no exception except the price is staggering? Please correct me if I am wrong. I have NEVER done car detailing outside so I would be grateful for your advice or any experiences that you have had whether it is from lexus dealer or outside. Also, 1 last thing, what is the recommended frequency for car detailing for a luxury car? They say it is once a year, is that right?
  10. I am just wondering whether any of you have the 2 DVD screen installed at the back of the car? Because I recently saw a picture which has it (see attached file at the bottom or below the link) and I am assuming it is done aftermarket since I never heard that there is this option when I purchased the new car? http://i44.tinypic.com/10z330k.jpg Anyone has any idea to it and the price for it etc? Also, recently, I've been trying to figure out a way to convert from rmvb, avi formats into the DVD (that I can burn which they cann VOB) so that I can play in the car. What program that is recommended and what are the procedures? I've heard a bit about it but it sounds complicated. For example.....an average movie for RMVB format is 500MB and can approx. fit 9 films in 1 DVD since it has 4.7GB size capacity. So how do you actually make into those DVD vob format??? Something like Winavi or DVD maker program but not sure how to assemble it before burning into an official DVD that can play in the car I hope you know what I am saying here. That would make it useful for those who have DVD nav package because if you have AVI or RMVB files and convert to DVD, you can fit several movies\series ep in 1 DVD rather than 1 movie per DVD like in the original. The only difference is that picture and\or sound quality is not as super good but that doesn't really bother me because I am just after for pure entertainment when I get bored in the car or relax on the beachside etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated Cheers
  11. I just recently bought IS250 with all the nav and moonroof option and I am satisifed with everything except there are few questions I would like to ask: 1) It's cool that you can watch DVD but however, is there a way where I can watch the local channel (like Channel 7, 9, 10, SBS etc) using some sort of TV Tuner? 2) Though I am aware you can watch DVD on the Nav Screen, but I know it has to be watched on the original DVD where avi, mp4, rnmvb format cannot be watched from a burnt DVD. However, as you are all aware, there is a jackput for ipod and I am wondering if I purchased a video IPOD, can the videos through the sat nav? If so, does it mean that it can watch avi, rmvb, mp4 etc for as long as it plays from the video ipod? I do not have video ipod but I just want to know whether it works or not for those who have tried? 3) I just read one of the feature for cruise control. It says: "At highway speeds, Active Cruise Control (ACC) (3) utilises the radar sensor to monitor the road ahead. First, set your cruising speed via touch controls on the steering wheel. Then if the ACC detects another vehicle in your path, it slows down your vehicle and even applies the brakes if necessary. Your nominated speed is resumed once a safe following distance can be maintained." I barely use Cruise Control but I will going on long distance drive soon which will be useful and so....from my understanding here....if I set to 100KM\H as my cruise control setting and there is no car in front of me......and then a car overtakes into my lane, which means a car is right in front of me. Rather than me slowing down using the brake, it will actually automatically slow down, right???? And once the car is gone (and no car is in front of me or far away), it will go back to the original 100KM\H setting again, is that correct? If so, that would be very cool.
  12. Thank you for your reply Sorry but do you mind if you can post out the link as I wanted to find it but there was no "search" button or words that was related to Car Wash? Cheers
  13. Hey there, I am so happy as I got a new car for a week in Sydney and its my first luxury IS250 car I have a used car and I never really washed the car myself but for this, I think I wanna wash it myself rather than paying $30 or $35 car wash so I would like to ask for your recommendation of how to make it clean and shiny? I've heard all of those wax, polish etc but I dunno what they actually do and which is the best If you can recommend me what products I should buy and WHERE e.g. K-mart, Big-W or in auto car shops etc would be appreciated as well as maybe some instruction of washing the car as I am a complete NEWBIE? Thanks guys and hope you are all having fun
  14. Hey guys, thanks for the answers as I appreciate that Though I am getting the car next week, I was able to fiddle around with it today at the dealer =) Oh wells, its a pity AVI or RMVB cannot be played at all but I know that apart from DVD, it can also play VCD but I guess the Australian here don't usually use that as it is irrelevant. Just letting you guys know, that's all :) Just 2 more things if you don't mind me being fussy again 1) I notice that there are NO fastforward or rewind to seek the track or DVD for example if I am listening to a 6 minute song, and I want to seek to 3:20min, I can't do it as ONLY skipping tracks are available (backward or forward). Is that true? 2) How to I adjust left\right speakers in audio just like playing it on your computer? Thanks
  15. Hello there I am about to get the IS250 next week and I am so excited about it and I'd like to ask a few questions in regards to the DVD since I have chose the Nav package 1) Obviously, I know it can play the original DVD, but.....most of my movies are in rmvb file format on my computer (since the files are much smaller and can play more on a normal burnt DVD), I am wondering if there's a way that I can play it on my car? If it is impossible, how about AVI format? Or it can ONLY play original DVD or exact burnt formula? 2) When I make the mp3, do I have to make burn it in EVERY single file in order to play it without creating any folders? Because I would like to prefer to create yellow folders e.g. "Rock" folder containing 30 songs, "Pop" folder containing 50 songs and so on etc, as that way will be easier to choose what I want rather than in 1 lot. Will that be visible when I play it on my CD\DVD player? Or only all in 1 go is allowed 3) Since it can play Mp3 files, can I burn & play in DVD to play rather than a CD since DVD contains 4.5GB while CD contains ONLY 700MB? This one I dun really mind, but just asking anyways and if it can play the mp3 files on the DVD, it will be great, if not, thats cool I know I can try and fiddle around when I pick it up, but I just can't wait Sorry for the questions and any answers here will be greatly appreciated. Cheers
