  1. Love the double din player in the front, nice clean ride. As they would say on anti-lag, do a skid! :P
  2. Nice wheels man, what offsets are you running? Your car just needs some more low and some less camber, VIP! :P
  3. I was doing some maths just now and found myself getting a little depressed. Earlier this year a traded in my old 1993 Lexus ES300 for my new(ish) car a 1998 Nissan Skyline R34. The official traded in "price" I got for my car? $5,000. Recently I bought some new wheels for my new baby, they arrived Thursday and I fitted them up on Saturday. Their cost? ~$4,360 (including tyres). This means that my old Lexus was "worth" just $640 more then my new tyres and wheels. :( A little more depressing when I work at a tyre shop and the tyres were wholesale/cost price. :( :( :(
  4. I agree up to you. If you find a good garage that has a good rep, deals with imports or does a bit of tuning that is a decent start as their customers usually demand a high level of quality and workmanship on their vehicles.
  5. Still got them sitting round the shop. $400 and the wheels are yours.

  7. Just the wheels for sale now $600 the lot (so no tyres).
  8. Still haev 'em, price drop to $900. Doubt anybody here will buy them, but worth a try.
  9. Still for sale! For an extra $100 I can balance them up again and have them fitted to your car. Or you could just take them for a grand! Perfect for ES, LS, GS and IS models!
  10. $1,000 Wheels, tyres, tuner style locking nuts. Bargain!
  11. Well this morning I finally let go of my beloved Lexus and moved on to a bit of a different type of car. I now have an R34 Skyline. In saying that I always saw myself as a "Toyota" man having had two previously (inluding the ES) and therefore only Toyota's. I tried to get an Aristo but it didn't seem to be possible at this point in time. Anyways I'm sure I shall return one day because when I want a cool luxury car again I'm going straight for that "L" badge. Have a good one guys and enjoy your absolutely awesome cars.
  12. Price Drop! $6,000.00 Need it gone as I have found the car, negotiated a price and just working on finance. I really don't want to trade it in.
  13. Car is now in perfect condition (or at least close to it, haha). Price drop to $6,500. I need it gone by Monday/Tuesday when I am getting my new car!
  14. I have not heard of any kits to turbo a 1MZ-FE engine I'm afraid. You can always get one custom made by a good racing/mechanic shop but it is going to be expensive (then again if you want it bad enough and want a one off vehicle why not?). You can certainly get your engine supercharged though. You will get some decent power from it and it should be cheaper then turbo-ing it. I certainly like my ES but if you were after some performance from your Lexus wouldn't you think swaping to a RWD LS or GS be better? So yeah, check out TRD superchargers, that would be your best way to get your ES300 to have some go with it's show.
  15. Price Drop. $7,000 without rims $8,500 with rims $100 finders fee still applicable.
  16. Sounds nice! I am still looking for a car and that certainly has all the luxury I want, dunno about getting a 2.0L non-turbo though. Pics?
  17. Mate had a look at work today and I suggest these two tyres (couldn't remember which patterns came in 225/40R18 you see) Toyo TASW - Nice smooth quiet tyre. You should be able to get for $230 - $250 each. Really good design and comfort levels for the price. Federal FD2 - Very good design IMO from a decent brand that you may not have heard of. You are looking in excess of $270 for one but I rate this tyre very highly for its price. Either one of these will be good, perhaps the Toyo even moreso for yourself due to the pricing. And when you are getting quotes ask the following questions they will be pretty useful. - Is fitting and balancing included in the price? (some dodgier places won't include this in the cost of "a tyre") - What sort of balance do I get with it? (Some places do more then one types of balancing and for a low profile tyre you will want/need a good balance.) - How much is tyre disposal? (some places don't include this in the price and lets be honest your not going to keep you sh*tty ones for memories) -How much is a wheel alignment? Any discount with the purchase of tyres? (If you are getting new tyres I would also want a wheel alignment, you not only want your car driving nice but you want your new tyres to wear evenly. And a tyre shop isn't in a shopping centre, they can knock money off the price!) Go get 'em tiger! :P
  18. Honestly dude $150 -$200 isn't gonna get you a great tyre, certainly not one that is nice and comfy. I consider my tyres middle of the range and I paid in the upper part of your bracket for them and I purchased the tyres direct from the supplier. I'm not sure exactly what there is out there but off the top of my head you will want to be spending around the top of your budget for a nice tyre. The Toyo I believe is around $320+ (maybe more) each RRP. Falkens? I don't really rate them and personally wouldn't put them on my car or suggest it to a fellow Lexus owner. Unfortunately mate you have pretty low profile 18" tyres and they're not cheap!
  19. Well I actually work at a tyre shop so my tyres were just a little cheaper then what you are going to pay. Off the top of my head they retail around $300 - $320 per tyre (I wouldn't know for sure off the top of my head though). My tyres are a little more agressive then you probably want though with road noise I guess I'd gauge as low-mid level. The Toyo Teo Plus would be a nice tyre for you I think, very quiet and smooth at a reasonable price and I think perhaps the Kumho KU21 might be alright in this particular size delivering a nice ride at a reasonable price. If you want the best of both worlds with a nice ride and good performance go Michelin however they will be expensive. If you want the best performance go a Pirelli PZero however you won't get as quieter ride and again it will be quite expensive (then again most in your size will be expensive, haha!). By the sounds of it go the Toyo, it will deliver great ride comfort at an affordable price. But I guess you have to weigh up your budget wth what you want out of your tyre.
  20. Yeah it is, for that sort of money you may aswell just go buy a turbo aristo. Can you not just turbo charge your engine without doing a complete engine swap? Surely there wouldn't need to be TOO much done to your current engine that it won't blow your budget. From my research looking to buy myself an Aristo they are a c*nt of a vehicle to shop for, particularly for a fussy person like me. Finding a clean example with leather and s sunroof is hard to find at a decent price. Then if I want it to not be white and have relatively low kms, ha dreaming! GS300's and Aristo's are certainly around but not enough to make it easy to find a good example at a decent price.
  21. Still need a definite answer? I will double check on tuesday for you but they should fit. Off the top of my head the stud patterns are both 5/114.3 with a 45P offset so it should work and sit nicely. Or have you already tried? Success?
  22. Depends at what price you're looking at, how "quiet" you want your ride and what size your 18's are (some obviously way more expensive then others). Kumho do pretty good low profile tyres for a decent price. I have Kumho KU31's in 225/40R18 form. They could be a little quieter but they are a great performing tyre that don't hit the budget too hard. Toyo Teo Plus's are nice quiet tyres aswell for a bit more then the Kumho's I mentioned. Different people judge quietness and price differently so its hard to tell.
