  1. I recently bought a LS 430 with air suspension. near new this had been driven through deep water and the air suspension pump sucked up water and seized. apart from this there was no water damage in the car. the car then sat for a number of years until I bought it, someone had a go at the suspension and had pulled some of the pipes out. I repaired the air pump which surprisingly worked well once it had been cleaned out. however the front splitter solenoid for the front suspension air had the pipes out and there was no marking to show which pipe goes where, as this is important because the wrong solenoid can pump up the suspension on the wrong side I am appealing to anyone who knows which pipe should go to the left or passenger side, the front one [they are behind each other] or the back one. cheers Lobes
  2. I own all three currently, many models of the 400, the best is the 98-2000 model with 4 airbags, probably the best value for money although the radar cruise control is nice on the later 430 MY4 on. re 430, this is the new version 400 not much difference from the 460 except for the body and a few minor items. Both are brilliant powerful cars 255km/hr and brakes and handling to match. the 430 is quieter than the 460 as Lexus Australia decided their cars were too quiet and mainly brought in a sports version of the 460, you can hear the engine in this, if you want quiet buy the 600.
  3. Hi all, I have a 99 LS400, the ignition keys on this model are fitted with a small sealed transponder, the ignition switch is fitted with a radio transmitter which sends out a signal which interrogates the key. the transponder code is then compared with a code held in the main computer, if the code is not in the computer the engine management system switches of. I live in New Guinea, my car arrived with only 1 key, the 3 button master. i want to get 2 more keys programmed into the system. Lexus tells me this is only possible via a Lexus diagnostic computer. there is no such thing in PNG, Lexus suggested shipping the car to Australia, which seemed a bit extreme.at a cost of about $4000. Can anyone help with a suggestion on how the key transponders can be programmed into the system? cheers lobes

  5. Hi All, Help,Help, I own a 99 lexus LS400 in Papua New Guinea, this came with only the 3 button master key. I would like to purchase 2 off spare keys. these each contain a sealed in transponder which the car recognises, I was told that the car has to be programmed via a Lexus computer to the transponder in the key. I am hoping that there is a simpler way of making the car accept the new transponder in the keys than actually shipping the car to and from Australia just so I can get new Keys? There is no Lexus dealer in PNG and the Toyota workshop manager asked me "what is a Lexus" Lobes
