  1. I wasn't too worried about the price because we were not getting rid of the car for a long time so it's value was irrelevant to us. We have only just taken it off the road for now due to a starter motor starting to make noises, our local dealer said about $2500 to fix the issue so with funds a bit tight we took it off the road and we will probably do it ourselves at a later date, when I am feeling adventurous haha not a job im looking forward to. But the car is well worth it for the car it is and condition, just not their sale value. We still want to keep it. Good luck with the German supplier, Let us know how you go, if they do them and cheaper maybe put the details up here.

  3. I didn't find any in Australia, Lexus of Adelaide told me when Lexus sold them they were $2k> I got mine from the U.S. and I think it cost about $120-$150 by the time it arrived. It needs to be soldered in, probably 20 pins give or take. I did end up finding the right hand drive part so that was good and it has worked perfectly ever since. How much is it by the time you get it from the U.S.?
  4. Hi, I am just wondering if anyone has any ideas about the Lexus LS400 1993, We were driving along it was running as it should and just like a click of a switch it had no acceleration and a slight vibration coming from the motor under acceleration, when the car is sitting still at idle it sounds like its got a slight sore throat and the slightest of rough running so slight that the engine is still stable and not rocking on idle,,, I have a tune up kit with plugs leads dizzy caps, rotor buttons and coils so I will try that tomorrow thinking maybe one coil may have packed up,,, How many petrol pumps are on these cars, it seems like half of the motor is running but its still relatively smooth running. Any suggestions would be appreciated, maybe some things I can check out tomorrow, thank you
  5. I just rang Lexus and was told about $2000 for the LCD module if they are still available, whats with that, under $100 for after market but just have to find a right hand drive module or wiring diagram for the LCD pin out configuration,
  6. I am also surprised it works, but I would be interested to see the different wiring diagrams if they are available because I would be happy to do a rewire, I don't think it would be to difficult if diagrams were available, just insulate the pins and use jumper wires, I won't hold my breath but I will try and find some diagrams,
  7. Thanks for your reply, I can't believe that Ebay will not allow me to ask this guy a question, I haven't had that before, so that makes it almost impossible for me to contact him to ask unless I buy one first,
  8. HI, I have recently replaced the screen for the climate control, it had the normal bleeding from the bottom with the black shading creeping up and becoming un readable except in hot weather, I bought a new display from Ebay and installed it which was an easy job and it went well apart from the display seems to be the wrong one, I wonder has anyone else had this issue , is there a fix for it or is it the wrong display screen,, the pins can not be connected wrong it is very straight forward, this is what the display looks like, I am pretty sure that the temp and time display have swapped sides and also the clock of coarse doesn't really appear to be a clock anymore, the temp side no longer works either the display just lights up constant like this and the temp side is actually active while the ignition is off but the back light does go out, the time side which is now on the right only comes on when the fan is activated,, I am confused, I would be extremely happy if someone has a fix for this problem or another complete unit that works 100% and for a right hand drive because I have a sneaking suspicion that the right and left hand drive cars have different displays and maybe this is the left hand model installed in to a right hand drive car ???? then I would think that there could be a pin configuration difference that maybe I could modify using small jumper wires if someone had a map to achieve the correct result, or maybe a wiring diagram for the climaate control display for a left and a right hand drive model ? Thanks in advance for any replies,,
  9. Yes its not a very hopeful situation,,, do you know where I can buy the single or double din fascia plates for the LS400,,, I did get a changer from a member but it wouldn't work on the day so i have that one with my original one and the tech's are trying to get one working out of the two,, I did forget to ask about their fees if it doesn't work I could be paying to much anyway,,,, Oh well no one can say I didn't try,,,,,,, if you know where to get the fascia's that would be a great help if I have to go that way which I think may be the case,, thanks
  10. Another common problem is the climate control display tends to be faulty after a while, the black can bleed up in to the display from the bottom and make it hard to read, new LCD panels are or were available on ebay so check there is you need another one, not sure about Original parts if they are available. Another issue can be the CD stacker and so far I have not found anyone that can repair it, the laser unit starts having reading errors and apparently the laser units are no longer available from pioneer.
  11. Hi, I have a Lexus LS400 1993 model and the CD stacker has gradually stopped working and has been sitting in a repair shop for about 6 months and they say the laser unit is no longer available so I am looking for a good second hand stacker that works or if there is someone out there that can repair them or maybe a substitute stacker and wiring instructions
  12. Hi, I am new as I have recently obtained an LS400 1993 white with silver, I am completely impressed with the car and ist ride, The problem I am having is that the cd changer seems to have a problem, when you want to play a cd it comes up with Err on the screen in the car and you have to just keep changing cd's until one starts to play, this can take 5 to 10 minutes of constant changing. I started to wonder if with the lexus you sell the car when the cd changer faults instead of the normal ashtrays full,, I am glad this one the ash tray has always been used as a coin tray. Anyway I am curious if anyone here knows if it is a repairable problem or if there is another factory one maybe from a later model that will play MP3's and preferably fit in the same spot, I don't mind moving the location if there is a substitute to play MP3's and work with the factory head unit. I don't want to replace the factory head unit if thats what they are called as they are or seem to be a large part of the dash facia Thanks for any replies Steven Adelaide South Australia
