  1. Hi all, My IS250 is in for its (Overdue) service. New brakes and rotors - check. New front shocks - Whoa!!! Not if I have to only use Lexus parts..... Any suggestions for good after market shocks for the Lexxy? In Sydney <==== Thanks in advance!!! :)
  2. Okay, so the blacktooth unit arrived today (Blackberry bluetooth). The unit itself is about the size of a matchbox, only slimmer. Comes with AUX cord, and I ordered the USB/Micro USB car charger adaptor. Here is how hard it is to install: Plug unit in to Aux and power. Switch iPhone Bluetooth on Turn on the car. iPhone discovers Blacktooth - Enter 0000 to pair. You are now ready to roll! Set audio to Aux and start playing your iPhone music library. THIS IS THE AWESOME!!!! About 3 minutes in to me driving and enjoying the ease of use of the set up, my phone rings...... Music stops. Have conversation on the IS250 handsfree audio through the audio system. ***(See note and end on bluetooth) Finish conversation. Music starts again. AWESOME!!! Stop car. Music pauses, so you don't have to manually stop it. AWESOME!!! Get in to car with earphones plugged in to the iPhone. Start car. Music starts playing on audio system. AWESOME!!! Sound control via steering wheel. Track control still via iPhone, so you'd need a mounting plate if you want to see the tracks you're playing etc. Sound quality seems ok too. *** The iPhone can have multiple bluetooth connections, so you have your IS "Hands Free" connected at the same time as your blackberry bluetooth. AWESOME!!! Did I mention how AWESOME!!! this is for $107?
  3. I have all my cars serviced at Reliable Automotive in Artarmon. They are honest, and essentially "Reliable". Full warranty book service, and yes your warranty with Lexus is still valid/covered. Just had my 90k service and spent all of $300. They will drive you to the station, or a cab to the city is not expensive. Yes, Lexus give you a "loaner" for the day, but for the extra $300-$500 I figure I can live without the "free" loan car....... I had Reliable recommended to me when I needed an honest mechanic to look at my BMW, and I have been using them ever since.
  4. Bought mine online at: http://www.thephonestore.com.au as they accept PayPal. If you check on http://www.getprice.com.au you may find one cheaper. I think Techbuy in Silverwater may still have stock: http://www.techbuy.com.au As soon as I get mine this week I'll put up a post rating it.
  5. Click on the video and then the "How to" Looks really straight forward. Plugs in to the AUX connector in the glovebox
  6. I was checking options for audio/aux compatibility for my iPhone when I found this little gem: The "how to" is covered here: http://is-250.blogspot.com/p/music-streaming-using-bluetooth-a2dp.html So, I have bought the Blackberry Bluetooth Music Gateway and a car charger for $107 online, and should have it just after Australia Day. My colleague Dan is picking one up today from out near Silverwater in Sydney. Has anyone else tried this set up? It looks insanely easy to install and by the look of the video, also easy to operate. Works in conjucntion with phone. Uses steering wheel controls. If this works, for $107 every one should have one! I'll update once mine arrives, or I'm sure that Dan will add detail if he did pick his up today..... ==>> See my review a few posts down <<== This unit is awesome for $107!!!
  7. SOLD - For $1,350 ................................
  8. Posted in the Buy/Sell forum: http://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9484 I have been offered $1,200 for this set of 4 rims, and will accept this offer if none better comes through by Close of Friday August 27th. Left front Left rear Right front Right Rear Tyres are okay wear and could probably go a few thousand more kms. Have fitted original rims to the car as it is now my wifes daily driver. Located in Gladesville/Hunters Hill area of Sydney. Buyer will need to pick up. Cash only
  9. See thread on IS250 forum for more pictures and post responses. http://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9390 I have been offered $1,200 for this set of 4 rims, and will accept this offer if none better comes through by Close of Friday August 27th. 10. Okay: The 18" Rims are now officially for sale. I have had a reasonable offer of $1,200 I will accept the best offer by private PM by 5pm Friday, so the new owner can pick up the Rims this weekend.
  11. I've had two separate offers of $1,000. Still wondering if to keep them or sell them.
  12. Heres the rims and tyres cleaned up. Slight kerb rash on fronts and one rear. Right front tyre looks to have seen better days. Tyres are Dumlop Sports MAxx. 225 40 R18 89Y Fronts 255 40 R18 94Y Rears
  13. ... and I would only sell them for the right price. Previous owner bought the rims new for $4k from the stealer. If I spent about $300 on the rims I could get them back to new condition in which case they could "theoretically" be worth $2k. I'm figuring that somewhere above $1,500 and I would consider parting with them. I don't need to sell them, and could happily store them in the back of the garage until the lease is paid out in 4 years. If someone thinks they are worth more than $1,500 then I'm happy to talk.
  14. Sent off my wife driving on the 16's. She likes them. Hmmm. To keep and take up garage space, or sell?
  15. So I bought a set of 16"s with great tyres from Jake and fitted them this morning. Wife is happy. Ride is smoother (If not as cool looking.....) I am considering whether to store the 18"s for if we ever sell the car or just sell them and be done with it? Tyres are Dunlop Sports Max (225 front, 255 rear) with about 1-2mm above tread wear indicator. Out of interest, what would the rims be worth 2nd hand? See my post further down for images of the wheels and tyres
  16. I do have a great upholsterer. He rebuilt the front seats in my BMW 3 Series and matched the leather to the original. He upholster a whole car in new leather for around $2k. He can build the F-Sports style seats from Prestige standards if he can source the foam moulds, which has been tricky to date. Clarence at X-Otic Leather Unit 2 50 Derby St Silverwater
  17. Does any one have an idea on how I can get hold of a supplier for F-Sports seats locally or in the US? Ideally I need the foam inserts to rebuild my standard seats, but would consider buying if they are not the $12k the stealer quoted. Thanks.
  18. Thanks all. Bought a set of 16's from Jake. Now to figure out how to quietly swap my seats for his F-Sport beauties......
  19. I put up another post back in December about swapping my 18 inch rims. My GSE20R IS250 (2007) had 18" OEM rims fitted by the previous owner at a cost of $4k for the rims new. My wife now drives the car full time, and while she loves the car she is finding the 18 inch rim give her a ride that is too firm. I love the firm and great handling that the 18 inch rims give, but as I hardly drive that car any more it's up to what my wife wants/needs. After chatting with a few tyre people it looks like the best option for her would be to go back to the 16 inch original rims that the car was fitted with. So, if you have a set (5) of good quality 16 inch rims with good rubber and would be interested in selling outright or trade plus some cash (I'm open to offers)then drop me a line. The rims are currently sporting Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 255 40 R18's on the rear and 225 40 R18's on the front and still have about 5-10k left in them. Sample picture if the rim style attached. When it stops raining tomorrow I'll give the car and rims a good clean and take some fresh pictures. Thanks All! Have bought a set of 16's
  20. I'll be in the Gong if its April 10th. Could join on the leg to Dapto - Macqaurie Pass, Robertson, Bowral, up the old Hume and back to Sydney (Or back to the Gong) any way you please. Unless you do a sparrows fart departure from Sydney you're going to catch traffic......
