Bendix 4WD pads are highly recomended, Im using them now up front and what a difference to the originals. Cant give a comparison yet in Km's to how long they last as its the first time being used, but they definitely out perform the standard pads by giving just that bit more bite on initial braking where originals start to really grab when the weight of the car is transfered forward. Just remember... to get maximum braking efficiency make sure discs are always machined with every new set of pads. Bendix have released a new series of 4WD pads with what they call "STEALTH advanced technology" which is basically a newer designed shape brake pad with titanium in the brake material. Hey Zinc, A RX330 is a great car thats been designed and made with quality. Cant comment on service costs as I do all my own work but can answer your questions as best I can. 1. The scehuled maintenance by the book is every 10K km, that would be essentially an oil & filter change. 2. The 80K service is just a (tappet) valve clearance noise & engine vibration check at idle & adjustment if necessary on top of the regular service The 100K service is a spark plug change on top of the regular service The 150K is the major service which timing belt gets replaced, but thats pushing it and majority of timing belts should replaced at 100K km mark to be on the safe side. Prevention is better than cure! 3. ONLY get it if its the extended Lexus factory warranty, if its any other type of company extended warranty its not worth the paper its printed on. $2K is a small price to pay for peace of mind if something MAJOR goes wrong! 4. Check that service history schedule has been followed & if its done more than 150K km check the major service (timing belt) has been done. 5. You can also have it serviced by Toyota dealerships, same diff! 6. Find a mechanic who you can trust & is confident in servicing your car & stick to them, as they will become familiar with your car history over time. 7. Always read the fine print! Called them first but they dont supply that bar anymore, then called TJM direct they have some available at HQ-warehouse in QLD & needed to be ordered down. Looks like the bar has been phased out of production & whats available might be surplus stock??? Aftermarket accesories always seem alot cheaper than OEM because there isnt such a huge price mark up, companys need to stay competitive in the market.

Visability shouldnt be an issue since bar only goes half way up the grill, not sure if you could see any of the bar from drivers seat but if theres any guess work involved in your parking then thats what the nudge bar is there for. Sounds to me like a bit of dealership endorsment there, and thats actually an absolute rip off considering the TJM 3" stainless nudge bar is $200+ fitting. Aftermarket bars sold for vehicles in Oz by reputable 4WD companys have to be tested for ADR compliance and air bag compatibility anyway. Paying dealer prices is like having your wallet raped!

Looking at adding a nudge bar to the Lexus but can only find them available from the dealer with a hefty price tag of $690+ fitting. Looked all over the net for aftermarket bar with no luck so far, anyone know of a company that make bars for the RX330 or a 4WD store that sell them? Even importing from overseas might be cheaper than buying from dealership?

What you need to do is burn the disc image from the ISO file onto a dvd disc, NOT a copy of the ISO file onto disc if that makes sense. If you have NERO use the Burning ROM program under the ISO tab or any other similar type software. But as said before there wouldnt be much difference between V14 & V15 other than some newly named suburban streets or such!

By dissconecting the battery for a while??? this should wipe all settings stored but then everything would need to be set back up like the radio ect.

Does anyone use any of the OBD diagnostic scan tools available to read engine/ecu fault codes? I am looking at buying one for my RX330 and would like some peoples opinions on which scan tools they have used and which type they used. Which is best... either the stand alone units that plug straight in or laptop based software connected via usb cable to scan plug. Thanks.

To be an update model it needs to be either late 04 build or an 05 model to be an MY05 Update. Its a Jun 2004 built Sports Luxury model with factory upgrades like the 18" wheels but no bluetooth/phone feature to be found on sat nav screen. I think you have missed the whole point of factory upgrades when a person buys the car brand new from a dealer.

Its a Jun 04 build and compliance also has 18" wheels. It all comes down to what factory upgrade option boxes were ticked by the first owner.

For stop-start driving in traffic theres not that much benefit using premium compared to E10, but for a long distance trip I prefer a higher octane fuel.

1. Try google 'lpg conversion brisbane' theres heaps. 2. Call around as prices vary from different workshops. 3. Would be in the spare tyre space & its not illegal to drive with no spare. 4. You LOSE performance on LPG compared to petrol & its noticable on any vehicle I think. 5. LPG is cheaper to purchase but consuption is almost twice that of petrol for the same distance. Also LPG cars can only get pink slips & gas system repairs from gas Licensed workshops. Why would you want to hack up a Lexus for LPG just to save a few cents per km, is it worth it?

Thanks Elmo, sounds like a possible reason. Yes there are phone buttons on steering wheel but its an 04 model RX330 so cant be an MY05 update??? Still yet to have a Lexus dealer reference the chasis number to check if blutooth was factory installed and go from there i guess!

Yes old disc (v.13) was put back in & same issue. There was no phone icon in 'info' menu before & it was only noticed after installing new map pack (v.15). ANY IDEAS??? ANYONE???

Sorry first post in bit misleading , there was no phone icon on the "info" page before or after our sat nav update & the buttons on steering wheel dont activate anything on screen. New car & just learning all features thats how we have come across this problem.

Pressed the Info button as well as the phone connect buttons on steering wheel and NOTHING, no dialing screen or any sort of option for making calls. Is it possible to enable this feature some how? Maybe it wasnt installed from factory eg. first buyer didnt tick this option as accesory to install? Now Im really confused whats going on???

Just checked by putting old original sat nav v.13 back in & does not have the phone icon in menu screen either. The phone call buttons on steering wheel dont bring up phone icon on menu screen also. Im confused as I thought all sat nav systems came with bluetooth preinstalled?
