Hks Hi-power Silent (type S)
00100100 replied to LEX51S's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 / Toyota Altezza Club
As far as I know, No you cant, you have to get it shipped. I bought mine from LEX51S 2nd-hand (the same one u see above in the photos). In terms of power increases, the IS200 stock exhaust is already a wide-ish one (6cm diameter) all the way through from extractors to the catback. The hi power silent is a little bit wider. And its only a catback only at the end of the day (not a compelete exhaust), so the power increases are only minimal and only at high revs. It will make more difference if the extractors were changed also. In terms of looks and sound, its brilliant, I love it. Its just a quiet deep hum. Gives the car a sporty look while maintaining the Lexus image ... (will in my imagination it does lol) -

hi all, as you most know the 1999 IS200 does not come with a center consol armrest. Does anyone know where I can get one 2nd hand? any wreckers? I found one in the US ebay going for about $300USD. A new one from Sewell will cost $450USD or more with shipping: Sewell Armrest If anyone knows where I can get it cheaper will be good. cheers

Steering Not Slf Centering
00100100 replied to JK5766's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 / Toyota Altezza Club
Take it to pedders and do a "28 point check". Has the car been in frontal accidents before? Get pedders or any tyre shops to do wheel allignment ... that usually fix's it (60-70$ costs for front and back tyres) -
K & N Oil Filter
00100100 replied to daniel2010's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 / Toyota Altezza Club
If the 300 one is abit bigger but still fits then it shouldnt be a problem. As long as the filter has a none return valve. I know that K&N usually use none return valves in their fitlers. Hence not a problem ;) All Toyota filters has none return valves inside them. I used bigger filters before with none return valves on cars, didnt notice any issues. But if you use a cheap filter with no none return valve it will cause a delay for the oil pressure to biuld up when you first start the car. So you will notice the oil pressure lamp stay on for few seconds after you start the car on the dash. My car has done 130k-km ... I still use 5-30 Castrol Edge. I know its abit light, but its good when starting the car in winter and its generally good if you rev the engine ;) -

Hi all ... as might some kno, i joined recently to the forums. Bought my IS last September. Been wanting to get my self one since long time before that :) mods so far: - Bought 18" wheels. - I change the shocks to KYBs couple of weekends ago ... that was really fun to do and I saved my self some bucks, but it is definitly a 2 man job lol - Installed 5000K HIDs - Another mod, which I bought recently from LEX51S recently, is a HKS Hi Power Silent cat-back exhaust. I usually do maintenance at home, but I follow the book and I only use fully synthetic oils. Lexus offered me a free service though for buying it. I am taking it to the city lexus tomorrow. The car has a full Legana kit :D If I can be bothered, I will put togather a car PC for it. I already looked for parts. May be towards the end of the year. Some pics: With Stock exhaust:
