  1. I'd be there but I have to work this afternoon, ah well, will probably hit up the next one though so if you go to that I might see you there.
  2. Hey buddy, where abouts are you in Queensland? If you're in Brisbane/Gold Coast area I've got a black OEM front bumper and I know a person who has a white one they are selling. Let me know
  3. Hmm I would also check the fuses on the drivers side fuse panel, particularly the 'dome' fuse. Did you ground the negative when you jump started or put the lead on the negative terminal on the battery?
  4. I usually find new dints in the door where people have managed to some how smash the corner of their door into mine. Even when I park as far left or right as possible on the end parking space. :(
  5. Lexus build quality is superb! Not really much to look out for, just make sure you do a check as you would with any used car. If you do a google search I'm sure you'd come up with something, I believe it had something to do with bushings being worn. Let us know how you go!
  6. Hi Welcome in! You have a good choice in cars :P Is this your first Lexus? What did you get? Unfortunately there aren't many active Queenslanders on here but if there is enough interest I'm sure I could organise a cruise in a months or so time. Might see ya around Happy Days!
  7. I think you should really look at other forms of modification to increase power but in saying that there is really no point for the is200, the 1G-FE engine isn't really made for performance. "Chip's" are a waste of time and money, if they really did work don't you think more than 1 person would have bought it? The best legal modifications you can do (on your p's) are i/h/e (intake/headers/exhaust). There are plenty of exhausts out there for the is200 and you could very easily get a pod as well, headers not so much that I know of. Even after all this though you would probably be better off with an IS300 if you want more power. Very roughly stock is something like ~116kw v is300's ~160kw. I'd recommend you looking at the suspension/handling side of things to make your car more enjoyable, ie strut braces, sway bars, coilovers. Some nice wheels would also be good. There is heaps of information out there about these cars, should probably do a little more research.
  8. That is strange, here is a complete guide on how to disable the tail light warning light http://my.is/forums/f64/is300-disable-tail-light-out-warning-light-340794/ Did you check the fuses next to the accelerator pedal? Just making sure. If your fuses are all fine it could possibly be a connection problem, I found in my car (2003 model) that sometimes the sensitivty of the sunroof button is off and I have to push it a few times, maybe you should take out the actual map light and check the connection. Good Luck
  9. For your tail light issue get someone else to push on the brakes and check that the brake lights are working, this could be your problem If the brake lights are working as well as everything else then you can always take the bulb out so it doesn't light up. Just google 'how to take out is200 is300 cluster' (first link 3rd page) As for your sunroof it could be something short circuting the electronics, or a blown fuse, so check the fuses (look in your car owners manual to find the fuses).
  10. Did you look behind the glovebox? The cabin filter is located there and as lex51s stated there could be paper or leaves stuck there. Maybe take the cabin filter out and clean it and anything that isn't meant to be there. Take the glove box off by squeezing the ends together, there will be a little door, open it and you will see the filter.
  11. Try option1garadge, they had a few parts awhile ago, not sure if they still do but.
  12. Ah cool, we should cruise some time ;) Changing to a less brighter hid would change the temperature/colour of the light (I think?), you could just adjust your lights so they don't beam too high. Get your car on a flat surface close to a wall, turn your head lights on, get some sockets and a wrench (I think 8mm can't remember) and start turning the knobs on the back of the head lights for the low beams. Lower enough so that they don't blind on coming traffic and you will have less attention. Or, you could buy OEM bulbs, but I'm not sure what type they are as I have an IS300, either 9006 or 6009 lol, you should probably do a search on that.
  13. If you have is200 head lights, (orange strip where indicator is) as opposed to is300 head lights then yes you should be able to. If there is an after market HID basalt in your car you will probably have to remove that first and buy the original bulbs to replace your current ones. I am curious though, why do you want to switch back to standard bulbs? Btw, I am on the coast as well :) I do have an after market HID with ballast fitted by the previous owner and because I don't really want to attract attention so I would rather change it to the normal halogen. If not I might see if I can change it to a less bright HID. I am not sure if my lights are at 4.3k or 6k. Where about are you on the coast? Ah I see, do you have any pictures of you car? I am close to Dreamworld.

  15. If your buying a lip from America it isn't the same. The USDM Is300's have a longer front and rear bumper design (not sure about width). It's due to their crash bars or something rather. USDM Is300 body is not the same as the Australian Is200/300 body.
