  1. noise levels on the Toyos were mild....the cabin is really quiet anyway and depends on the road etc, but over all much better noise limit than others ;^)
  2. It was confirmed to me that lexus dealers use Castrol Magnatec 10W -40. And that is 10000000% Factual
  3. id go the Pzeros anyday over the SP Sportmaxx TT, thr only prob was i only got abt 30,000 kms out of them and did try my best to preserve them.... im going to stress again that the Kumho's i have on the car now are just Terrible!!!!! aviod if u dont wanna crash
  4. it was with syd city lex... and included front disc's replaced rears machined and front and back pads replaced... i was like WTF and for the record on inspection from Pedders the rears actually had nothing wrong with them ....
  5. Ru serious a 5w - feels thick? remember there are alot of other factors i.e tuning etc, may i ask how many km's urs has done??
  6. I really dont think u need to go to the 0w - 40....as long as u dont hammer the engine on immediate start up, give it a good minute to warm up in the engine, the 5w - 30 well and truly does the job.... A not ( as im sure u know ) its best to stick to the same brand grade oil for as long as possible, i.e dont go mobile 1, penrite, castrol then mobile 1, just stick to the same.... its a bit like mixing coke with pepsi then coke zero and lemonade lol
  7. Just a tip, at 20,000 kms, i noticed mine was getting some external noise coming through the cabin, took me ages to work it out, especially when i was travelling at speed id be hearing external noise bursts... Spoke to a Lexus service Tech and was advised that door trim rubbers can dry out, he suggesting lubricating ( preferably with a silican sprayed onto a cloth ) rubbed around all door trims... Tried it and he was 100000000% right !!! Now no noise... Give it a go, silican spray is like $ 5. and doesnt leave a greasy mess..Nice
  8. CASTROL 5W - 30.........Is Number 1 for a LEX IS250..My Mrs is Japanese and on the Lexus Japan Forums its voted the best... Mobile 1 is just a rip, unless ur driving a ferrari or some turbo mod its just not necessary.... I change mine every 8k, and have put my engine through hell since new, 3 years, touch wood no engine probs...Yet ha ha ha
  9. I got the EBC green stuff pads for my IS250 Sports through Marion Brake & Clutch Spares Sydney, Id previously used EBC greens on my VW GTI and they worked really really well.....i recently wore them out and warped the front rotars, ( for the 2nd time ) so had to replace brake's and front disc's.. I wanted to try the Bendix Ultimates but non were in stock so opted for standard bendix with aftermarket discs......Now in all honost for standard ( semi fast ) city driving i cannot notice the difference between the EBC's and the basic Bendix....Im also suprised at the limited amount of dust coming off the pads.. :-) its all good. Ps Lexus quoted me $ 1,640. for the pad / disc replacement. It ended up costing me $ 480. ALL UP through an accredited brake co. ( with warrenty )
  10. up to 80,000 kms on my Is250 sports, started with dunlops, went to pirelli pzero nero's, were ok, next up tried the Toyo Proxy 4's, Wooo awesome tyre, massive grip, wet, cornering etc, i blew one out on the M5 @ 160km's per hr..bit expensive abt 330 each, just changed to KUHMO ecsta's, cheap ass tyres $ 150 each, huge traction difference, they dont hug the corners at all......Not suggested....Stick with Toyo's if u have the cash....
  11. Castrol Edge 5w - 30. Nice.
