  1. This is great! Tempted to pick up a second hand Android phone to get this setup in the car. Motivetronics do you do installations? If so how much would it cost?
  2. A little off topic but just checked out what else the guy has done through his youtube account. 3IS F-Sport dash retrofit.
  3. If you had both the 50% and 100% wired at the same time with power going from both sources at once then I guess it's ok haha but don't quote me on that. I think the worst that will happen sis the fuse will blow so it will be a simple fix. I wired my lights with the 50/100 relay and a toggle switch to turn them completely off so might try adding in the second relay and see if it works. Let me know how you go, good luck!
  4. Without too much electrical knowledge behind me, except for electronics class in high school, would using a second relay from here work? Here is how I think it would work.. but happy for people to chime in and potentially stop me from breaking something haha. Relay 1 is how you would wire it to function like OEM. Add in Relay 2 on the right hand side and it would activate the LEDs only when the puddle lamps come on and the ignition is off. If the ignition is on and the puddle lamps come on, then it won't send both power sources to the LEDs because relay 2 then sends the power to relay 1 to function as OEM.
  5. I'm interested in doing this mod too but I share your concerns about what might happen if you have the DRL's on and then have the puddle lights come on too.
  6. I followed this guide to wire mine up to work like stock, but I also added an on/off switch. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-second-generation/649200-2012-led-headlights-100-50-circuit.html Both headlights are wired to a single relay, then I added a on/off toggle switch which I've placed in the switch panel beside the fuel release button so that I can turn the LED's completely off if needed.
  7. The photos were taken with a camera phone so not really in a controlled setting with the same focus point and what not, it was mainly just to show the beam and cutoff. The factory xenon's are certainly brighter than the HID kit I had, however the photo does make it seem more extreme.
  8. Here's my before and after shot as a general comparison of the angle of the beam. Before shot was with halogen projectors + HID kit. After shot is the MY2012 lights. As mentioned, you can adjust the beam to be pretty much the same height as with RHD models. I actually asked the dealership guys to fix up the aim for me to their specs when I took it in for a service. Just note that I wasn't parked in the exact same spot for both shots.
  9. Sorry to dig an old thread back up but does anyone know if Lexus Australia have taken any action on this like our friends up in the USA? I have been having issues with my 2006 IS250 with the following error codes: P0306 (Cylinder 6 misfire) P0158 (O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage, Bank 2 Sensor 2) I took my car in to the dealership and was told it was a carbon build up issue and that it would cost a bucket load to pull it apart and fix. Seems people in America have been sent letters and had theirs fixed under a 9 year unlimited milage warranty for this issue. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-second-generation/655541-is250-carbon-build-up-csp.html
  10. Don't know if this helps but I'm running 255/35 on my 18x10 rears and it doesn't look overly stretched.
  11. I did this quite a while ago, I'm not the best electronically minded but the instructions were helpful. At one stage I think I had some of the wiring wrong and the car wouldn't start at all haha. Anyway, I put a switch next to all the other switches to the lower right panel of the drivers seat which disengages the VSS. You need this because when the VSS is on, the nav will function like normal and you won't be able to input destinations. Once you flick the switch, the keyboard becomes enabled and you can type away, but the vehicle loses its position on the map because it thinks you're stationary. When you've finished, flick the switch back over and it will take maybe around 10 seconds for the GPS to figure out your new position. No other glitches. The other thing that performs a little differently is when you press the phone button on your steering wheel while in motion, it won't go directly to the speed dial screen. It will instead go to the phone keypad screen and you will need to press "Speed Dial" on the screen, or dial a number. Note: I only did this mod so my partner could put in the destination while I drive. Drive safe!
  12. I get my car serviced at Blackburn but I haven't tried City or Brighton. I noticed on the website it says that a free courtesy car is only for cars within their new car warranty period, I bought my car out of it's NCW period, but I've always been given a car on request. The first time I serviced there I didn't request a car and it was significantly cheaper than the times I have asked for a car, not sure if it's just because that service required less work but according to the service manual it was more work than others. I had a service last week and asked specifically if loan cars cost me any extra and was told that they're only available to cars that are still under new car warranty, but that he would give me one anyway? Haven't ever had any problems with the guys at Blackburn, they seem to do a good job so I'll be happy to go back there. If there is one gripe to pick at, it's that I have some extra electronic devices in the car including a dash cam and the guys working on my car in their underground section seemed to be too inquisitive and grabbing at the camera and yanking at other wiring not knowing that the camera is always on. Harmless but just thought I'd point it out if anyone else has things installed in their cars.
  13. If anyone needs convincing, here are the ones I got off Danny! I love them! http://au.lexusowner...0200#entry40200
  14. Hi everyone, I haven't posted my car here before but I just installed the MY2012 LED headlights which I bought from Danny here so figure now is a time to start! Sorry the pics aren't the best, took them with my phone. Thanks Danny for everything :)
  15. Anyone in Melbourne done it and willing to help for some kind of payment? :)
