  1. I ended up getting this fixed through warranty. The dealership got the brake pads and shims replaced however my rotors remain the same and no machining was needed. If there was machining required or rotors needed replacing I was looking at +$500 at my own expense. I suggest you use this post as proof and I'm happy to scan a copy of the repair sheet if required.
  2. I have a 2011 IS350 F Sport and I get the same issue. It also happens with the podcasts app too if I play the audio via the app instead. I don't know the reason for this (I can only speculate that maybe the music app conflicts with the audio system?!?!), however I tend to close the music app on the ipod completely... not just rely on pressing the home button. I then unplug the ipod, turn off the audio system, and replug it and I access the music directly from the audio system's USB menu. This always fixes the problem. Regarding the BT Audio, I don't think there is this option with the IS, however I might be wrong if you say so. Mine certainly doesn't have it and the Lexus website makes no mention of it on the IS. Your RX should have BT Audio though if it is the 2013 model/shape, and even digital radio (DAB).
  3. Noticed in recent footage on YouTube from Lexus Europe that the new RX F Sport has a black roof. Does this mean we should expect a panoramic sunroof to be optioned with the latest RX? Keep an eye at about 0:05 and 0:23 seconds in below vid. http://youtu.be/eaDh6I-V-TY
  4. There's a #5 too... We don't get the 8spd gearbox either. This youtube video of a US auto review site shows a lot of stuff the US model gets over our version. Do you know of any more things missing?
  5. I just thought I'd share a rant about something a few of you may already know regarding certain options in the RX350 F Sport that have been omitted from the Australian models versus US model (and possibly EU model). It shows that we really do get screwed in this country. It comes in handy if you're looking at buying new (which is my current position) or upgrading from pre-MY2013 model. 1. Heated and Cooled Seats 2. Blind Spot Monitor on rear view mirrors 3. Heads Up Display 4. The enform system #1 & #2 I expect as standard for a new car that costs $90-95k brand new, especially from Lexus that is known not to hold back with offering such optional equipment as standard compared to the German rivals. I can live without these but why should I? My 2009 Mazda CX7 has heated seats standard and that cost me $45k four years ago. Even pre-2013 equivalent RX models at least have the heated seats. #3 I can understand it only being available on Sports Luxury, but explain why the S/L does not have the Blind Spot system at all? Again something that would add value to the model. #4 I guess could work here but seems to be a US promoted system. Shame though, would really set the car apart from your snobby German makes. I do love the BT streaming and DAB radio though, which makes listening to 2GB a dream. By the way I don't listen to 2GB religiously but AM radio sounds so much better in digital, especially come footy season. I did also send an email to Lexus and got following mute response: --------------------------------------------------------------------- We have received your note about the different specifications between Australian and US Lexus models. Thank you. We always pass on comments like this as it gives Lexus Australia valuable feedback for future decisions on specifications that are taken in Japan. Kind regards, Lexus Customer Assistance Centre - Stephen Asprey --------------------------------------------------------------------- I could go the next step and get a S/L but again the Americans don't have to so why should we? Either way I'm going to buy one within the month but feel a bit ripped off, like pretty much everything else sold in this country. Let me know your thoughts, whether you too share same frustrations. Regards, John
  6. Hoping someone can help with this issue. Not sure if I'm alone, but my brakes are squealing very badly under light application, e.g lightly braking when coming to a stop just as I press the brakes until the brakes grip that little bit harder. The noise is embarrassing for a relatively new car to do this, so I brought it up with Lexus Waterloo, who suggested and carried out a machine on the discs. This was at about 22-24000km. I had a recent service in Nov at 28000, and its just under 30000 now. The noise came back this month after the Nov service. They said that next time I will need to replace rotors as part of wear and tear at my cost, looking at $800+. Does this seem right? Should this not be a warranty issue? I never had this issue with my Mazda 3 SP23 of 5 years and I did 120000km in that. Looking forward to your responses. Cheers, John
  7. Mr Newman, John from CEVA here

  8. I'm not sure how relevant this is, but i had iphone 3G with OS4.x and worked fine with white USB cable and I still got calls through b/tooth. I had no ipod functionality on iphone tho. This is on a 2011 IS350 F-Sport.
  9. Got my IS350F today. Top acceleration and power from the big 6. Can anyone help guide me with correct instructions on how to set up the "doors auto lock/unlock" feature? I would like to have it locked when moving and unlocked when I return shifter to PARK. Help with the "window/sunroof open/close feature by remote control" would be much appreciated too? At the moment I can only close the windows by use of the door button.
  10. Re: Corporate Program Yep, had to remind the dealer about this a few times. Helps to work for a top 500 aussie company. Free servicing by the book up to 60000km or 3yrs. That's a minimum $2000 I save. Plus a $500 credit off the finance. All the rest is as per Encore privileges.
  11. Just to note that I had a choice of getting silver, blue, white or grey now without waiting till December but I wanted Black so I had to wait. All stock by dealer were demo or sold and no other dealer would swap. Unfortunately I got in too late. Is anyone else willing to share what price you paid? Icefire, IS350F-sport??
  12. Delivery on 29 December. Yeah trade-in wasn't the best but I've had my car advertised privately for 4 months, dropped the price from 18k to 15k and no interest at all. Its the cheapest of its kind on carsales, problem is there's too many of them for sale. Corporate is only for added benefits like $500 credit on finance if thru Lexus and 3 yrs free servicing but no fleet pricing. Anyway, as we've seen $74k-$75k drive away should be your guide when negotiating. If you think less please give me an example. I also got quoted for insurance thru Lexus too. 50% cheaper than NRMA and GIO. Anyone think the same?
  13. Yes the car is just under $82k driveaway here in Sydney. I don't know how they worked it out for the final figure to total $69700. They must have tweaked the final figure with the potential margin they can make on the trade-in to show better profits at the end of the month, who knows? In the end with the trade-in I'm driving away with only $63700 and the current car I own owing to Lexus. I got a Starlight Black IS350 F Sport with: * moonroof * front sensors (non-Lexus brand to look like sports luxury) * rear sensors (original Lexus as per Sports Luxury) * boot liner * corporate program registration which includes 3 yrs free service + encore priv which every owner gets. As I mentioned in my previous post I'm also trading in my current Mazda 3 SP23 which is worth about $11-13k (so the dealer says). The trade-in confuses things. Lets say the trade-in is $12000, the purchase price would be about $75700. Nearly a $6000 discount. On the invoice the $6k shows as the trade-in value. Shak bought his for $74k which is even better!
  14. congrats guys. the new black looks hot. i was also considering white and blue colours. the final invoice showed $69700 less trade-in so driveaway was $63700. I also got front and rear sensors and boot liner. i have a mazda 3 which was worth about $12-13k. for a "new" model that wasn't covered under the l'exhibition discounts and from a RRP of $82000 without the mentioned options i'd like to think i got a good deal except for delivery of car, i was hoping to get it in november. i'll just have to wait until early january i suppose. funny that we walk away thinking we screwed the dealer, but in the end we're the ones screwed LOL. fantastic car though - true value for money. how much did you pay?
  15. Hey all, I'm new to forum. I was converted when I took the 350F for a test drive. Talk about value for money compared to european competitors (options that come with car as standard, encore priv, corp prog). For the same amount of money I would be buying a standard 320, C180, or 1.8L A4. Was looking at 2009 model IS250 F-sport in June but luckily I gave up on that idea. Anyways just last week I put my deposit for black IS350 F-sport, however waiting til late December for delivery. I want it now!!! I asked about 2011 comp plate as I thought about it because of the wait and they advised that they won't be available until early March-April due to manufacturing and shipping time, which seems about right I suppose. Starlight Black is also best seller.
