I'm wondering if anyone on here has done a 1jz swap into their is200? If not do people know what's the approximate cost? I hear its less than the 2j by a lot. Anyone know of any shops near NSW/ACT which do this?

Im not sure what the regulations are in Vic but i know that in Canberra if you add a turbo your gonna need a engineering certificate to be legal, this doesnt mean you dont need one but if you get defected or put over the pits theyll hit you on it. Out of interest what extractors have you got fitted? make much difference?

The IS200 is a slow car, if you want more power go for the IS300, the car it self is quite heavy and the engine was built for economy as apposed to power. There are a few mods like air filters and extrators and exhaust but they are all quite small gains for the 1g-fe engine. best bet is to turbo/supercharge or change engine. But to me the IS200 is a cruiser not a racer, enjoy the luxuries of the car and cruise by. To give you an estimate of how fast they are they are rougly the same as a corolla.

Does anyone here know if the HKS hybrid sports oil filter fits the is200? 1g-fe engine?? I've herd mixed results, Is it better to use the genuine oil filter or one of those for minor services

I'm wondering if anyone here had tried to DKNE extractors for the is200, or have changed to any other after market extractors, is it worth it? Whats your view on it,

Hi Recently I have adding a few things to my is200, one of the things I've done is hooked up a amp and sub to the stock headunit with a grom audio adaptor. I've been thinking if it's possible to add a custom fibreglass mould to the rear doors where the door pockets are to seal them flat and add a set of component speakers to them then get some extra front speaker grills and have those on the rear doors too, but in addition I want to add these speakers to the stock headunit, does anyone know if this is possible?? Second thing is with the satnav ( my car doesn't have one) but I'm wondering if anyone here knows anything about buying the satnav harness for the top of the centre dash and replace it with a DVD touch screen and being able to connect them to the speakers too, this would give a very stock standard look which is what I'm after, If anyone has done anything similar or can help me with this that would be very much appreciated :) Best regards Sean
