  1. Did the quote they give you include parts and labour or just parts? To give you an idea, the last time I did my front brakes: EBC Redstuff front pads: $165 RDA Rotors: ~$160? Can't remember exactly but was in that ball park. I fitted them myself so can't give you an idea of labour costs Admittedly they are for an IS250 but I don't think there is that much price difference between the 250 and 350 pads. Rotors may be a bit more expensive for the 350. I've also used Resma and Bendix Ultimate pads. The Resma pads are quite cheap (maybe around $100 or $120 for the fronts) but I found that they were quite dusty. Bendix Ultimate are dusty as well and not that cheap from memory.

  4. hey mate, give these guys a go: http://www.mobilealloywheelrepairs.com.au/ I used them to repair my IS-F wheels and if you have a look in the IS-F section, you will find some pics of my repaired IS-F wheels. They come to you and were the most reasonably priced out of all the places I went to.
  5. Seeing as you are getting to be around 12 months since the last time you serviced the car, I would get it serviced. You would want at a minimum to drop the oil out and put new oil in. The other items may or may not be required.
  6. Bc all the way. Especially for the relative ease of installation of coilovers over installing springs.
  7. I haven't had to replace my bulbs yet so not sure about brand. If it was me, I would just pull mine out and see what brand they were and get the same.
  8. Yes replace both bulbs. As soon as one goes, the other one will be on the way out in the not too distant future.
  9. I had gotten my IS-F wheels done by the Wheelman (see link from mikenbn's post). Their work is pretty good and I'm quite happy with how the wheels came out. Price wise, they were the most competitive out of all the places I went to and they come to you which is a plus. They can also do the repairs with the wheels still on the car. Anyways, pics or it didn't happen. He didn't want to eat into it too much. You can't tell unless you are right up close though.   10. in a nutshell, most probably will need to roll your guards and do that fender tab mod that is all over clublexus if you are lowered. would help if you stated which vossen wheels you were looking at.
  11. is the glare bouncing off something in the car like the dash or centre console bit? do you see it at all times when you drive or only when driving and the sun is in front of you? have you tried putting the sunvisor down? sometimes i'll have sunlight reflect off the centre console but nothing really annoying or significant and it would usually only be when i have the sunroof open.
  12. *when your brakes start to squeel *when your pads have under 1mm of pad left i think it is (not too hard to check when the wheel is off - just turn the wheel and you should be able to see how much meat is left on the pad) *for rotors, it is best to use those electronic caliper things to measure the thickness of the rotor, i forget what they are called have heard good things about the bendix pads or if you want a bit more performance then get EBC redstuff pads. for rotors, you have RDA or DBA rotors i'm sure there is a thread on here somewhere talking about brake pads/rotors etc.

  14. Yes interior is quite small in the IS. I've had 3 guys in the back seat and they were all squished up against each other (they are all fairly skinny asians as well) Leg room was ok as I don't sit very far back but if you are tall then pretty much game over for anyone sitting behind you. What do you want out of the car? What do you want it to do? Will it only be you in the car? Will you be driving around all the time with mates in the car? Kinda hard to make a recommendation without knowing those things.
  15. Hey Rian, Welcome to Sydney and welcome to the club!! That pic of the IS200 looks HOT!!!! Nice bunch of cars you own as well. Just had a look on your site, prices look pretty good for the replacement bulbs. They are just an aftermarket equivalent aren't they to the OEM bulbs?

  17. Jeez, do you work at night?? LOL yes I believe only the sports luxury should have the woodgrain trim. Anything else that says sports luxury but doesn't have it, I would be wary of. I jumped on carsales and had a look and I've found a couple that have been advertised as sports luxury with the silver trim but are actually only a prestige. I suppose anyone could go out and get replacement parts and make it look like a sports luxury but the amount you would spend to get it to that stage wouldn't be economical from my point of view. Other things to look out for are illuminated door scuff plate and I think the front sensors. I can't remember if the other models have sensors on the front, I'm pretty sure it is just the rears on other models.
  18. easiest way to pick out the sports luxury is the heated/cooling seats, memory seats, woodgrain trim, rear sunshade and the big lexus badge on the grill at the front that is covered in glass/plastic. and also the little radar button on the steering wheel...
  19. yeh generally increasing rim size will make your fuel consumption go up. more tyre on the road makes it stick to the road more. heavier wheel+tyre combination is usually the result of going to a bigger sized wheel so you are carrying a bit more weight. my average is 8.8L/100km city driving but it's all constant speed as i go to work at weird times and there isn't much traffic around. best i've had is mid 7's but that was pretty much all freeway driving.
