  2. I think you will struggle to get a 350 in the 30s. Good luck on your search mate
  3. Will post up soon. Price drop to 44k
  4. Hi everyone, I have for sale a 2010 built, 2011 registered IS350. I've had it from new since March last year. Car is Pearl White with light grey interior 47000km, all highway driving Great condition Heaps of warranty left Full service history through Lexus of Brighton New tyres Just been serviced Only selling due to purchase of new Lexus Cheapest in the country 45k firm Does not have sunroof Email me on sam13190176@gmail.com if interested. Thanks
  5. 11k wouldn't cover any brake upgrades required for engineers or the testing and certificate itself. Then there's the issues of EPA emissions and testing if you wanted it to be a legal system. I've been down this path before and it's not a fun or cheap exercise. If it was a good idea than everyone would do it instead of buying 350's which is what most people were trying to communicate to the OP. The power difference between the SC 250 and 350 is very little. Again id like to see it done but doubt it will happen.
  6. When doing your sums don't forget to add engineering costs and full exhaust to the upgrade cost. The car won't be legal hence uninsurable without an engineers certificate. When you consider that the car won't be worth much more than what you paid for it after 10-15k worth of upgrades, is probably makes sense to get the IS350. I think high 40s would get you one and you'll get a car that's a few years newer, updated features, under warranty and most likely more reliable. And it would have better resale than any supercharged IS250. If false economy doesn't bother you, go the supercharger. If you can knock it off for under 15k and can sort out the fueling/ecu issues properly I know I'll be first in line to get my IS350 done. Good luck I hope you do it and can report back on your experiences.
  7. From all my research, engine mods to an IS350 is a waste of time and money. The engine in the ISF is a much better platform for mods although a stock ISF doesn't feel that much quicker than an IS350. From memory, the supercharger kit that was released for the IS350 was discontinued some time ago due to lack of interest. Apparently its the ECU more than anything else that's hard to crack for FI.
  8. I'll add my 2c into this discussion. I think high 50's for a 2010 F-Sport is a fair price if people were generally paying 83k new for this car. Similar to one of the other posters in this thread, I paid 59k on the road with everything for a 2010 build IS350 prestige in early 2011. This was from an interstate dealer which I had no previous dealings with. Just goes to show what deals are possible with some good negotiation. I think many people would choose a brand new prestige over what is in most peoples eyes a 2 year old F-sport with x amount of km. Add a few k in stamp duty and it ends up more expensive than what I paid new. I think your location in NT plays a large part in it as well. I think most buyers in the eastern states wouldn't consider a car from NT due to the perceived distance. The reality is that people are paying low to mid 70's for new F-sport's these days. Once you consider the stamp duty which will need to be paid on your car, it represents a 10k saving over a new car. I think most people would buy a new one in this case. I think if you've had no bites after a few months, then the market feels that the price is too high. Maybe mid 50s would be a better proposition
  9. Na that's not a particularly great deal. I paid less than that for a new IS350.
  10. I think what others have paid does matter. This is especially true with the IS range of vehicles which have very little options to choose from. If you know what a dealers is willing to sell a particular car for your less likely to buy the BS of another dealer who is trying to push the exact same car for 10% more. Knowledge is power. I agree that some people are great with negotiation and will shop around etc and get the best deal possible, but not everyone fits this profile..
  11. Dis-lex-sic from what I understood from your post, your main gripe is new users signing up to see what deals they can get on a new car. You also state that these members haven't contributed anything before or after such posts. If they haven't bought an IS yet what possibly can they be contributing beforehand? And if they just inquired about price, it also stands to reason that even if they did end up buying one, it probably hasn't been delivered yet. Personally I don't see any problem with someone trying to get the best deal possible on a vehicle purchase. I've purchased enough new luxury/exotic cars over the past few years to know how unscrupulous some dealers can be in misrepresenting the deals they are offering. Granted that there's definitely some honest folk out there but the reality is that it's in the salesman's best interest to get as close to RRP out of you as possible. I only signed up to this forum recently after purchasing my IS350 and my first post was to give an indication of what I paid for my car in WB.47's thread. There is nothing wrong at all in helping someone get the best deal possible on a new car although I agree that asking another member for a sales contract is a bit rude. But again, if personal details and the VIN was blacked out, this wouldn't be THAT much of an issue either. This knowledge may enable someone with the purchasing power to buy an IS350 over an IS250 for instance. I think the 59k on the road I paid for my IS350 was a great deal and was done with very little negotiation. I had other dealers telling me that 65k is their rock bottom price for the exact same car and were adamant that they were going to lose money if they sold it below that. Obviously when you hear such mis-truths you begin to question the integrity of some salespeople. Again I have no issue at all in others getting a great deal on a new car using the advise that members have provided. In fact if you visit some other forums such as VWWatercooled they have spreadsheets you can download which list what members paid for their cars and what options were ordered and % discount over RRP. The only person I can imagine that would disagree would be a salesman who stands to lose if everyone was able to get the best price possible. However, I don't think anyone here is averse to saving money on a new car... except for the person who sets to gain by taking as much of your hard earned as possible
  12. Hi there, do you mind sharing more information on this, as I'm currently looking to purchase an IS350 as well. Like which dealer and if you are willing to scan a copy of the invoice with just the price on it? It was from one of the Lexus dealers in the Gold Coast :) Can't give you the invoice though unfortunately
  13. To give you a rough idea of what deals can be had, I recently picked up a brand new 10 plated IS350 prestige for 59k on the road.. This is with factory navigation but with no moonroof.. Shop around as some dealers are keen to move the 10 plated stock
