  1. Ah.. this happens even when the battery is full but yes I take your point on air con!
  2. I’ve heard good things about Linear Rossa in Fairfield but never been there myself.
  3. Hi all I picked up a (used) 2013 RX450H a few months ago and I'm really loving the smoothness of the vehicle so far. However, I've noticed that when coasting downhill, and when the brakes are not applied, the engine doesn't switch off - the fuel consumption figures are about 3-4L/100km when coasting, and when I come to a complete stop at the bottom of the hill, the readout is infinityL/100km as the engine is running. This is also when I can actually feel the engine running as the car is now stationary. The engine then switches off after a few seconds. Is this normal? Not sure if I've only just noticed now or if this is a new development indicating an issue. Thoughts / comments much appreciated!
  4. maybe i should try valvoline next time, what kinda oil does Lexus service use? does anyone know? I had the same issue of low engine oil. Gave Lexus a call and they offered to top it up for me. They use semi-synthetic 10W-30, which is shocking. Thought they'd use fully synthetic!
  5. Dropped my car in for a 105,000km service at Lexus of Blackburn and mentioned the issue. They recommended an injector flush, which I agreed for $125. They then advised that I engaged manual mode and stuck it in 2nd gear, and redlined it for a good 5 seconds. This seems to have solved the issue. It might be too soon to tell, but I'll report back in a week!
  6. How much did you guys pay for roof racks? Are they easy to install? Is this a reasonable price? http://www.orsracksd...-roof-rack.html Really only getting this for the odd item from Ikea (large, but light items <30kgs) and it will only be on the car when I need it (assuming its easy to install and remove as needed) so noise doesn't concern me. Any other cheaper alternatives that won't damage the roof of my car would be good as well.
  7. Yup the OEM battery is a Panasonic. I might go with Century. I've read polarising reviews on Optima Red Tops for use in a daily driver. They look nice though - kinda like a large Lego brick.
  8. Haha yeah I thought that was a little weird... I got it off the Exige battery finder website. Typed in the name of the car model and it says "2 batteries required"
  9. Hey just wondering what car battery you guys use and how much you paid for it?
  10. Yeah it is scarily quiet most of the time except when I am driving on cobblestone.
  11. Hehe no I didn't push the blank button - I just didn't see the DISP button! Does anyone know if the paddle shifters can be used whilst left in full automatic, and if not, if there's a workaround like a software update?
  12. Thanks for confirming. Nope I don't have a rattling noise at the right rear door. Has anyone noticed a slight squeak when you dry steer quickly? I don't usually dry steer but had to in a tight parking space last night and noticed a light squeak as I dry steered quickly.
  13. Ahh right ok - had no idea there wasn't a central speaker... so is that where the 14th speaker goes if you opt for the Mark Levinson audio package?
  14. Hey guys the speaker above the central aircon vents seems to rattle whenever I go over rough surfaces. Has anyone else noticed a similar issue?
  15. I don't actually recall seeing a "DISP" button on my steering wheel. I think I only have buttons on the left for audio system controls, but nothing on the right. It's a 2007 Prestige model if it helps. I'll check again tonight though,
  16. Hi guys - just picked up a dark blue (anyone know what this colour's called?) 2007 IS250 and can't seem to find the "distance to empty" reading. Does anyone know how I can activate this?
  17. Hi guys Picking up a used 2007 IS250 this weekend and have the option of taking up a National Warranty Company (Sentinel Pack) at cost. There are claim limits and they don't seem to be all that generous ($3000 each per claim for gearbox and engine). What do you guys reckon? There are some bad reviews online about this warranty provider (but every product will cop bad reviews at some stage), but do your IS250s give you any issues that I should be wary of? Should I bother with warranty? Planning on doing oil changes myself but can't do that without voiding the warranty. It has a full service history Lexus and I have called the service centre to confirm that. Thoughts appreciated!
