  1. Hi All, I am due for a change in the front rotors and brake pads and came across this going for only $130 for the whole set. They are from RDA and from my searches through this forum, everyone seems to be recommending it but it seems like most of you buy the DBA rotors and Bendix pads. I contacted the seller who is down in VIC and he said it would affect the warranty on the rotor and pads if they were not used together... My main question is really related to the rotor. It states the model is RDA7686 which apparently is also the same disc for a Rav4 and Aurion? Can someone confirm that the model number is correct? Where can I go to verify the model number? Also any one can recommend a fitter in Sydney? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LEXUS-IS250-FRONT-Disc-Brake-Rotors-PADS-PACKAGE-/130882498781?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AIS250&hash=item1e793470dd&_uhb=1
  2. See the thing that gives me the is that the car had its 75km servicing 100km ago! I pull up the oil stick and the oil is not golden its semi black like someone drove it for 5000km already. Not sure if my questioning of the servicing of lexus Parra would do me any good in regards to the warranty claims. coming from a bmw, I am really disappointed. Which dealer do you recommend? Didn't u test drive it before buying it? Yes it was probably my fault by taking everything for granted. buying from a lexus dealer was probably the thing that let me believe the car should be good. He said:" dont worry we will check and make sure the car is all good when you pick it up. all the marks (on the centre console) will be removed, the car is fully serviced and detailed by lexus and we are even providing you with an additional 2 yr warranty with us so you have peace of mind" and i was thinking what would go wrong. the car has relatively low km. throughout 58KM the servicing has been always done on time all by lexus. the latest service was for 75000km at 58000km...

  4. Hi Guys, Was wondering which dealership you guys go to in regards to getting warranty stuff fixed or to get an opinion about things? Reason i am asking is cause i just picked up my preowned IS250 2006 (58,000KM)with 2 years certified factory warranty and I have found things i would like to get done. 1)Engine is NOT SMOOTH AT ALL! its ticking and sound like diesel. (have a feeling the leuxus dealer pumped 91 in full tank so it sounds funny, dont remember it sound funny when i test drove it, Could it be the carbon built up? if yes would this be covered under warranty?) 2)When u press the brakes you can hear something rattling like a buzzing sound 3)When u shift it from P to R -->good, from R to D--> bad the car feels like its it went into gear then after pressing on the acc, the car does a mini jerk 4)The dash is expanding? it doesnt sit well with the console there is a gap enough to put 2x$2 coins side ways to insert them in. (* not sure if they would take this as a warranty claim) 5)The colour of the trim the silver ones on the side and gear box has faded to be a different colour/ dots in them to the radio. (*not sure if they would take this as a warranty claim)
  5. Oh, one more question. has anyone notice that there is a transparent sticker on the display beside your automatic gear lever (PRNDS)? Can that be peeled off? Want to make sure before doing it since mine would be a 5 yr old car which still has the sticker on so there is a chance that it might stuck tightly to the plastic.
  6. Thanks mate. Anyone who knows about the HID? if the is250 would need special/specific version of the HID or would the normal ones you get off ebay work too? resistors on the LED parkers and LED puddle lights if i want to change them? any h11 kit is fine. no errors on dash like euro cars. same with puddle lights and parkers. you can led the whole car without a problem. japanese cars are not a pain to mod like euro cars. Thanks mate. but i saw in another thread that there are issues with installing LED tail lights that needs a resistor, apparently his VSC light came on. That got me wondering if the car is like a euro car that needs cancellers.

  8. Hi All, Went down to the lexus dealer today to have a look at used is250 and ended up buying one. bought a 06 prestige with EMV package. 58Ks Lexus certified with 2 yrs factory warranty. Traded in my E60, although people are still asking me why i did that. All i can say is I am trying out something new, never had a lexus before. Was wondering what I should look out for when I pick the car up? what are the common faults in an is250. Also a few questions: - Thinking of upgrading the halogens to HIDs, does the car detects the change and send out a bulb warning like the BMW? Can I just buy a random ebay H11 HID kit or would i need something with a warning canceller? What about the T10 parkers and side puddle lights? (*in the bmw every single LED has to have a resistor-error canceller) - What sort of a price is the map upgrade? or if i do manage to "find" one lying around how easy is the upgrade? I heard people having their dvd stuck in the system. Thanks in advance guys, looking forward to having fun in this forum.
