  1. Hi All, Selling my IS250 Sports Luxury, Melbourne location. Car is always parked under cover at night and has a full service history at Melbourne City and Blackburn Lexus, mechanical inspection report available. Ice cold A/C, non smoker, interior in good condition. This car is regularly cleaned and is the Sports Luxury model, easiest way to confirm it is a true Sports Luxury is by the woodgrain dash, the steering wheel also automatically comes out when you start the car and goes back in electronically when you turn off the ignition. It has many nice features as standard equipment on this car including aircon seats, distance control cruise (will adjust your speed depending if there is a car in front of you and the distance of the car), powered headlamp washers, powered rear blinds and more. Further details and pics can be found here- http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Lexus-IS250-2008/SSE-AD-2679275/?Cr=10&sdmvc=1 Contact me on 0439-044-535 Thanks
  2. thanks so much, I'm assuming 235/40/18 similar offset would still fit at the front without any scrubbing?
  3. Hi all, I've done a lot of googling and searching but can't find whether the following would fit on my 08 Sports luxury. Any help or tips would be appreciated - 18 x 8.5 running 235/35/18 tyres at front 18 x 9.5 running 255/35/18 tyres at rear +35 Offset Btw - the car is running stock suspension. Thanks!
  4. Yep my OEM were Phillips, you can buy them from either Powerbulbs for about $125 each or Amazon for cheaper. I found mine from a supplier from Ebay for really cheap which makes me wonder if they are genuine but they work fine so appears ok.
  5. Thanks, I bought the oem bulbs off ebay and then took it to Lexus to replace. 80bux labour to fit both, still cheaper than lexus supplying and replacing both.
  6. If anyone can recommend where to buy them from too for a better price that would be great, thanks. Also, are the OEM ones 4300K colour? I've found some philips ones on ebay and i'm thinking of getting the 6000K ones.
  7. Thanks ilv1004s I guess xenon bulbs behave differently then. I will grab a set, someone from the forums has mentioned they cost $400 from the dealers?!! Anyone tried after market ones or do you go factory from the dealers?
  8. I've got a 08 IS250 with factory xenon lights and noticed that after about 10mins of driving the left side passenger head light goes out. If i turn the lights off and back on it will come back on and then eventually go out again. This is the first time I've had a car with xenon head lights so I'm not sure if this is a sign that the bulb is on the way out? Or does it normally work like a standard bulb and either just work or not work? Any ideas? I'm planning to take the bulbs out from left to right and swap it to see but if someone has experienced this before they could save me the trouble. I'm worried about going to the dealer because from the searches I've done it looks like it is very expensive to change just one bulb! Thanks.
  9. If you can find a SL without too much price diff, definitely get that as its worth the money. I have a SL and its got lots of little nice things which make the car nicer, such as the mirrors go down when you reverse to help you park, there is a rear sunshade which you can hit the button go go up and down at the, xenon lights, better sound system, steering wheel automatically goes in and out when you start the car etc etc. I've also seen some cars listed for sale as SL when they are not, easiest way to tell from pictures is the that the SL has the woodgrain inserts. Whenever I take my car into service and they give me the prestige as the courtesy car I always miss my SL car lol.
  10. Thanks mate. I don't use the sat nav that much so for it to keep defaulting to it after I reverse instead of defaulting to my previous screen is a bit annoying lol.
  11. I know this is a very old thread, but after I updated the maps on my 08 Sports Luxury, it is doing the same thing as your one Cecil. After reverse it is defaulting to the sat nav screen instead of returning to the previous screen. If anyone can let me know if there is a setting to change for this it would be great. Btw - I updated the maps myself, so it wasn't official from the dealer if that makes a difference... Thanks!
  12. Hi all, I have a IS250 08 Sports Luxury. Recently I downloaded some updated maps for the Sat Nav and installed them myself, but since doing that whenever I have put the car into reverse and go back to drive it defaults straight to the Sat Nav maps screen. Previously it would go back to whatever screen I had it on, eg. audio, after I was done reversing. I've looked into all the settings and can't seem to find how to change this. Nothing major but just a bit annoying, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  13. Thanks soo much!!! I will give that a go, was really doing my head in as it made looking at the map very difficult!!!
  14. Thats cheap! So are you planning to supply that to the Lexus dealer for service? Would they do that, allow you to bring your own parts? Coz damn I would have saved heaps!
  15. Hi, hoping someone can help me out with the GPS in my 08 250. For some reason the GPS is no longer always pointing up vertically in the display of the direction you are going. Eg. if I am travelling South it shows the car heading down the screen instead of going up!! If I'm going east the navigation travels across the right of the screen making it very confusing. So, doesn't matter which direction im going the map just stays on North as facing up instead of following my direction. Sorry if it sounds confusing, but I've looked at all the settings and can't find where I can change this!!! Doing my head in when I use the maps!!! How do I change it back to default? I haven't updated the maps yet . Thanks in advance.
  16. philliphs sorry for the late reply, service was around 1K. so including the injector clean about $1,100.
  17. Yep mine was the same, takes slightly longer to start up. Not sure how much an aftermarket battery is but just figured I'd let lexus do it and not have to worry with it myself.
  18. Thanks for the replies all, i ended up getting racv to jump start the car, guy said I can try drive it for an hr to try charge it but I was going goldcoast that night and didn't want to risk it, so drove it to Blackburn lexus and replaced the battery for 195. Strangely enough I didn't lose my settings. All good now :-)
  19. So does anyone know if leaving the lights on AUTO will waste more battery and drain battery quicker? Thanks.
  20. Thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated! Yep it does the same, makes clicking noises!!! I'll call RACV in. Haven't had the car for very long so wasn't sure if there was anything else I needed to do when changing the battery. Cheers
  21. Mine use to be pretty bad on 95 Shell, but since I switch to V-Power it seems much less now. Will also try the Caltex Vortex as that is the other close station but Vpower seems to be working ok.
  22. Hi all, my 08 Sports lux won't start :( goes through the check fine but then doesn't turn over. Worse part is I just had the 90K service done too and they said the car was all good. I'm suspecting the battery, does anyone have any experience with the battery, can you charge it or should you replace it. I took a look and it appears to be some sort of factory jap battery, the indicator says its ok... If it is the battery I'll just have to call RACV to replace it with one of theirs I guess. Is there anything special I need to do with the alarm if this is the case? I wonder if leaving your car lights on auto drains the battery faster as the lights are still on when you have cut the engine and don't turn off until you open the door. Thanks in advance.
  23. Yep, I just had the 90k service done and paid that amount plus an extra 100bux approx for the fuel injector clean. Done at Blackburn lexus, was slightly cheaper than Melbourne lexus.
  24. I paid $750 for the insurance, but obviously it depends on your age, history, where you park the car at night etc. Good news is I have picked up the car, bad news is that when they replaced the windscreen they broke the guards on the left and right so that the clips are not holding them in and when I drove on the freeway they came off and flapped so I have had to tape them up for now :( I'm trying to have them fix and ideally just replace that now, hopefully they do. Else I'm not sure how much it costs. Also waiting for the other remote, apparently they only replaced the battery in one. Once these two items are done I can finally enjoy the car and not stress.
