  1. hi, i can get about 650km on PULP (98RON). living near port meblourne with highway and city driving. check your TSC, if it is dry i switch it off (if wet PLEASE LEAVE ON, else your wheels will spin). dont use power mode if u dont have to. heater seats should be off when in summer and only use A/C (or heater) if you need, the moonroof is good if u have one. check your airfilter and engine oil... oh, i get rid of any unnecassry stuff as well in the boot (only the lexus stuff). hope this helps. cheers.
  2. hi all, i am back... just to touch on the oil....OEM oil is specifically designed for the make and model in conjunction with oil companies, just like tyres and spark plugs. OEM are generally designed with reliability in mind. it can take up to 4 years in test...and believe me when I say it can be 4 years! so i would personally use the OEM oil, I too had this question at first as I was driving a C43 which I used the mobil 1 and when I changed to the IS200 i wanted to as well, but no need, the OEM oil is just as good if not better. with rattles, I had this too on the IS200 driver side near the seatbelt.....it comes and goes.... cheers.
  3. Hi :D , I got all my lexus at Melbourne City, their service is second to none compared to Brighton Lexus & others. Blackburn Lexus may be able to give better deals as they are a new mob and they get special incentives from Manufacturer. If you go down to Melb City Lexus- ask for Ray! best of luck! :)
  4. hi, i was fortunate enough to test all three variants. The prices do justify the equipment. Just my opinion: If all you want is to get into a Lexus, the base is just fine, it has most of the electronics, including leather seats, but serious / keen driver should get the sports, it will leave you with a grin every-time! (but no leather seats). The Sport-Lux are for those who wants best of both worlds - if you can afford it this is the model to get! A sports with "option pack" will already set you back $76500, at $78k for the sports lux with everything - can't pass it. Also as the Sports Lux has only 17" wheels, get the dealer to "upgrade" for you to the 18". With 18" 255/35 tyres, sure you will "stick" to the road...........heeehee. Also, if you are not in a hurry to buy one, prices will drop in a years time...........hahahaaa! :D
  5. exeter, where did you get your Tom's Air Filter? Cost? Your info will be most helpful :D
  6. Hi, I'm in Melbourne and would like to know where I can get Performance Air filter for new IS200 (GXE10), 6cyl 2L (1G-FE) engine. I've been to Autobarn etc and they sell me the wrong airfilter, my is a "L" shaped? Been online to get it, but most US only stock IS300 which is "very" different. I only saw 1 website in NZ - trdsales.com which stock the airfilter but I'm not sure if its as good as K&N or BMC. Anyone with these to comment? Also any known websites or location (in Melb) who sells IS200 Performance airfilter would be much appreciated...thank you. :D
  7. Hi, As I've mentioned, IS200's 1G-FE engine with VVT-i will adapt to 91RON fuel and it is fine. A higher grade fuel such as 95 or 98 RON will increase performance and/or better fuel economy. On 91 RON, the IS200 may feel a little sluggish, but if have never put in higher grade fuel, I guess you will not know the difference. :) I have driven an IS200 manual with only 91RON fuel for company car and it is not as responsive as my IS200 auto with 98RON only. Hope this helps.
  8. On the IS200, the headlight "normal" beam is HB4 (9006), "High" beam is HB3 (9005). Fogs should be H3. It should all be stated in the owner's manual under "lighting" / "replacement bulb". hope this helps.
  9. Hi All, Found out the "Best" pressure... for "normal" load (4 adults) 34psi for Sports, 36 psi for Lux sports for "heavy load, as per the lexus chart....40psi. Cheers, :)
  10. Hi :) , I was wondering if anyone knows what is the "optium" tyre pressure for an IS200 with 16" Alloy? Many thanks for your info. :)
  11. Hi, Regarding the PULP. It sure will help. As the engine is VVT-i it will sense knocking etc and adjust hence higher RON will effectively give better performance. If you were to drive on PULP as you would on ULP, it will save approximately 20% running cost as it will travel longer distant per tank. I've tested. Yes, I just change from a MB C200 Kompressor to an IS200 and I just love the IS. Compared to the Accord Euro - no comparision. I've tested/driven the Euro at work and the IS200 is 100% better in refinement, handling and poise. Good luck with your search for an IS. :)
