Hmmm... Might be an easier effect to shave off the door handles and get a commercial door popper kit from somewhere (they're popular in the US i know). Scissor doors like that don't work well on sedan's, they even look pretty ugly on hatchbacks like VW golf's (which I've seen, ruined a perfectly good R32)

Gotta say that the last time I saw someone selling these asa kit was Lextasy from the US at the rather princely sum of $485.
