  1. I just wanted to put out an EOI on my 4GR Engine. My engine bay is too small and I'm getting an FE engine to do away with the direct injection on a conversion. Would suit a great spare or heads for a port job. 28K Km on motor No acessories or loom No RWD water housings No leaks, like new. No sump $1000
  2. After seeing the carbon buildup many owners have run into I figured port injection would be a good way to go, 100 octane and a good tune it'd run great. I'm so dissapointed with the length of the engine I might end up sellling it and getting an aurion engine yet.
  3. Yeah, can run the quad VVTi and 12 injectors fully sequentially. I'll delete the direct injection if it becomes too much of an issue and just run port injection, at WOT on the race track I don't think the direct injection is going to help efficiency!
  4. This is like new, you're mad not to have this on the shelf if you're a spirited driver and out of warranty :D
  5. Hey! I've got 2 dead 2GR's and a fully dressed 4GRFSE to play with, umming and arring what to do. I had done all my measurements originally off a 2GRFE, and the mechanical drive fuel pump has been quite an obsticale when it comes to brake boosters in my granny spec KE70 corolla. I think the shear mass of the loom and the smartkey means that the easiest way to go is to get it to run is an adaptronic E1280 ECU for the injection and lose about 10kg of wiring and regain and under the dash fitment of the ecu. I've got all the bits to make the engine run, but I think fault code city with a W58 will be too much of a battle.
  6. Selling due to not being fit for my purpose. Suits someone wanting to loose the Dual mass flywheel. $400 ... Cost me $520AU to get it here.
  7. Spare IS250 auto Gearbox from 2011 stat write off, like new, 26K km. Selling due to manual track car conversion. $600
  8. Nice score, keep up the oil changes and she'll run like a dream for ages.
  9. You'll come out ahead if you shop around on oil and follow the specials. A spanner turned today is a dollar saved tomorrow. Basic servicing like oil and filter changes are easy as pie. A timing belt or water pump does require a bit of experience depending on how long you hold on to the vehicle and whether you'll run into major work.
  10. Direct injection and very high compression has a lot to do with why high octane will help. A pure fuel will leave less carbon build up. The direct injection on an 4GR has a few teething problems due to running dry valves and no port injectors. It tends to have issues with carbon build up thanks to that. I do wonder if a valve saver injector like you use on lpg setups would aid the issue.
  11. Yeah there's lots of talk about the rattle. I'm doing an engine swap with a 4GR and a W58 and my only advice to get rid of the rattle would be a sprung disc. Just don't get why they thought an unsprung multi plate would be a good idea on a relitively mild street car.
  12. Sweet will have to turn up once the new car is running
  13. The girls 7 Series did a similar trick with a plastic undertray. I just used a self tapper and was done in no time.
  14. Look at the service history if its available. These really tight tolerance engines need regular oil changes, I've seen near new motors clagged up with sludge without regular oil changes. The tighter the tolerances, the more wear you'll get on a motor. If the service history is good or it has warranty you're laughing.
  15. Yeah I love that new shape, such a shame it runs a dog suby engine and doesn't outperform a V6 camry in a straight line. So far I've seen a 2UR and a 2GR swap on a few sites, but boost would help I guess.
  16. Hey guy's I'm new here and wanted to say g'day. I'm keen to share my experiences so far with my 4GR-FSE powered track car build if you could point me to a good place to start a thread. I've got some nice pics of these engines to share with you. Still in early days and Engine is tight squeen in a Corolla engine bay. Wish me luck!
