  1. Hi all unfortunately my beloved 05 is200 sports luxury had an untimely demise with a Honda crv that had no idea where it was going. Sadly the car is gone but I was mid way through through refinishing 4× 5 spoke 17inch(oem) rims that had been sprayed in black back to silver. tyres were removed and discarded and 2 centre caps are missing! looking to get rid of these rims anyone interested please contact me and I can provide photos. any offer considered Cheers Lefty
  2. Ok cool thanks for the info! I did buy the rims however removing the black has been an absolute pain and havent really done much else
  3. Hey guys, considering updating the head unit in the IS200 but I keep reading about having to bypass the amplifier! i mean isn't the whole point of the amp to give better sound? It makes no sense to by pass it just because you change the head unit . can anyone shed some light on this topic please it would be apreciated
  4. Hey all just wondering if anyone knows if the limited edition yellows had a different rim colour? a guy I used to work with had a yellow and if I remember correctly his wheels where almost like a shadow chrome colour but weather or not that was original is unknown only asking as I may be purchasing another ser of rims but they have been sprayed black and I don't think it will suit the silver of my car. If anyone knows or has ideas please let me know
  5. Hey Don sorry to bring up an old topic how did you go with the wheels and the paint colour?
  6. Sounds like the central locking actuator has stopped working happened with mine when I bought it replaced it haven't had an issue since
  7. I've painted wheels before its a pain in the a$$ but what you put in determines your finish I did it with a bunch of spray cans But let me make a suggestion plastidip available from most auto stores and available in heaps of colours and finishes I mean why stick to stock gunmetal grey in gloss finish would look nice on a white IS. that way you can have a set for the summer and a set for the winter just a thought good luck
  8. Has anybody heard of any brake upgrades available for a 2005 IS200 besides putting slotted or drilled rotors? I've heard of somebody putting LS400 brakes on the front which is apparently a cheap upgrade!
  9. I'd love to see a photo if you have one available just unsure if I want to start doing the climate control lights also need to sort it out soon though driving at night with no instruments is not something I wanna do !
  10. So I've just noticed one of my globes has blown in my instrument cluster I was looking to find how to remove the cluster to replace the globes I found a awesome write up on how to do it on another Lexus site my.is now my question is has anyone done this before these guys are putting coloured LEDs and changing the entire look of the cluster from my understanding it's just a slip on cover over the globe giving us that crappy orange colour that makes reading temp gauge hard to read can anybody confirm this Cheers
  11. I dunno yet where I will get the hids from thought bout the eBay kits but don't trust em (warranty wise ect),
  12. So I shouldn't have any problem then worrying weather I will burn the lens right even if I choose to use 6000k hid a friend told me if I use 4300k I'll be right any more than that I risk burning the lens can anyone confirm this
  13. Can someone tell me if the IS300 came out with projector headlights from factory or not as I'm trying to figure out if I need to convert my IS200 headlights to projector type for hid conversion
  14. Well looking the pic again it may clip in to the piece above it which would be the front part of the pocket
  15. Never been to this sort of thing but yeah I've just rsvped here on this site see bout bringing a mate or 2 along
  16. Yeah figure as much alternatively you could mount an led strip on the under side of the door
  17. Pull the rubber boot off the switch unscrew the switch get your power source that's the easiest way. But I would try find a power source inside the door I.e off the the red courtesy light in the door card
  18. Nah mate it's standard sport lux with sunroof millennium silver 17 black interior I'll take some next time I wash it though
  19. I have a few questions and would love your advice guys so here goes. Lately with rain here in Sydney and the overcast sky's that go with it I have felt the want to install daylight running lights but instead of those crappy looking strip type lights I've been thinking of putting in high powered halo rings and hooking them up as drls only. or my other option is to find something dark enough and transperant enough to cover the light sensor on the dash so they can come on earlier in the evening or when it's raining. This however makes reading the speedo harder! what does everyone recommend? I don't want to cheapen the look of my Lexus but want to make sure it's seen in the early evening or on these rainy days. I prefer to keep my lights in the auto position which is why I'm asking! Next question did any of the is200s come with an LSD diff? Been trying to find out but with out jacking it up or ripping tyres to pieces it's hard so I'm asking the question here. Is there an axle code ore something perhaps? Cheers guys
  20. Throw a k&n type filter in it and do the exhaust should free up a few ponies
  21. Hey guys I'm Elis from Sydney bought myself a millennium silver 2005 IS200 sport luxury with 96000kms few weeks back. Loved this car ever since they came out into production and finally got one so just saying hi looking forward to hopefully a great run with this car no plans for major mods just a aftermarket stereo with Bluetooth nav and reverse camera and perhaps unrestricting the exhaust system a little :) Cheers guys
