  1. I am curious what weight oils any high km owners are using? My 250 has just over 200k on the clock, still runs like a dream, but wondering if I should be considering something heavier than the Mobil1 5w30 I am using. I also had let a number of months pass between oil level checks and found mine to be just on the bottom dot of the dipstick too. I topped it up but unfortunately I was a bit hasty and put 3litres in, so it has now come above the top dot to where the stick has a twist in it, so guess I'll be getting messy draining some back out
  2. Thanks mate. I'm not 100% sure on the wheels too be honest, from what I can gather via the internet, they are just the stock 18's that the 06 sport model came with, but of course, the internet isn't always right, but for a factory rim, I don't think they look too bad, lol. Regarding a meeting up of Perth members, I currently work away quite a lot, but once my schedule settles down, if it does, then I might look at just posting a time and place on the forum and see who how many local Lexus owners are keen :)
  3. My 2006 Sport is the same if I get heavy on the gas, (and being manual I probably do that more than should) I have read a number of suggestions as to the possible cause and how to deal with it, but the one I believe is the issue for my IS, is the primary catalytic converters. Apparently Lexus changed the CATs in the 08 or 09 model and in the states they actually offered owners with earlier models experiencing this, the option of having the CATS swapped out, but not here in Oz :( A common suggestion is to try a different fuel supplier, so BP instead of Gull, etc...but I have tried many, in many different areas around Perth and this has made no difference for me, so I am currently looking into what options there are for aftermarket exhaust manifolds with new CATS and bolting that on in place of the stock one........ unfortunately I have not found one yet that wont bring up any fault lights
  4. Cheers for that, now I know what model to ask for when trying to find some light up sil panels B)
  5. Nothing fancy as yet, but these two mods were essential on my second hand Lexus. Replaced the cabin filter - it actually wasn't too bad, but now I know when it was last done. And the navigation DVD - That's V13 coming out. I could only find non-torrent links for V18, but at least this one has my home street on it
  6. Thanks mate. I would have liked the perfrmance of a 350, but just cant bring myself to give up the third pedal just yet, lol.
  7. Hi there, I joined the forum a few months ago, seeking info about the car I had already bought and as I snapped a couple of shots of it yesterday, I thought it was a good time to introduce myself :) I have an 06 IS250 Sport with EMV package, 6spd manual in White Crystal Pearl Shine. From what I can tell, it has a majority of the options, but I do know I don't have a rear shade, the light up sil panels, or the distance radar for the cruise control. Here are some as it is now: If there are any others here from WA, I'd be keen to hear of any meets or get togethers and check out your rides B)
