  1. Anyone have experience with the 6-2 headers available for a pretty reasonable price on eBay? There's a stainless set available for USD94.99 plus freight, and a black coated system that look more substantial, for USD118.89, but even more than this for freight. Anyone fitted anything off eBay, or a locally manufactured set of headers? Would be interested to know rough budget, and noise/performance increases achieved.
  2. Can't see the ad any more, but I thought all IS300s had sunroofs, regardless of sports luxury or not. Mine is a standard is300, without the sat Nav, and I love it. Great fun to drive. Would be better with paddles, but the buttons work ok when driven in anger. I haven't heard of common issues, but others will comment I'm sure. Price of just on or under 10k is about right for a low 100k 03 to 05 model.
  3. Hi My mechanic is having trouble finding a rear (on the exhaust somewhere I guess) )2 sensor for my 2005 IS300. We have already tried a couple, but they don't fit. Does anyone know of a source of sensors in Australia that may have a few options for the IS300?
  4. Hey W_M Thanks for the info. Any idea if all 3 sensors are the same, particularly if the attached wiring is the same (plug configuration, wire lenght)? I know, I'll have to get under there and have a good look. :|
  5. Has anyone had any joy (or otherwise) sourcing replacement O2 sensors for the 2JZ-GE? I'm having trouble with mine, and my mechanic can't source an aftermarket item that fits properly, and has the same wiring connections. Original replacements are in the order of $500 from Japan, with a huge lead time. I would be interested if anyone has had issues with the sensors, and how they solved said issues.
  6. Hi Lefty. Sorry, life has taken over, and I still have the replacement rims that I am going to repaint in the shed. If anyone is desperate, or looking for standard rims in Adelaide, please contact me.
  7. As well, while u have the bits off the top of the motor (throttle body etc) I'm thinking about getting the intake manifold ported and polished. Has anyone done this, and what improvements, if any, has it made? Also, can anyone in Adelaide point me to a reliable workshop to get the porting done?
  8. Sorry to resurrect an old topic, but I am considering extractors for my IS300. eBay Item 231476299682 Anyone have experience, positive or otherwise, with fitting extractors? With or without a complete exhaust system upgrade?
  9. Well, today I bit the bullet and tackled removal of the LEXUS and IS 300 badges from my boot. Step 1. Apply heat - CAREFULLY, I found around 150C worked the best, without producing any noticeable effect on the paint or badge. Step 2. Slide floss behind badge to cut glue. I'm sure fishing line would have broken less, but I wanted to minimise any possible risk to the paintwork by using something softer. This worked about 0.5 letters at a time, before a reheat from the heat gun. Step 3. Apply lots of glue solvent (I used Goof Off, which I found at Bunnings). At least 2 layers of a soft cloth, and a fingernail to appply a bit more pressure, worked OK, but very slowly. Step 4. Clay Bar to remove the outlines of the badges. This was my first attempt at Clay Bar, and it is amazing. You have to get really close up, on an angle, to make out where the badges might have been. Looks tidy, I think. I thought I had embedding images into posts sorted, but it didn't want to do it, so have attached images.
  10. Just another update on this, even though the thread probably doesn't need it. Have driven the IS300 a bit more now, including a trip through Chain Of Ponds here in SA. The shift buttons on the steering wheel give great control and engine braking through the twisty roads. I have posted some pics - http://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/10630-is200300-pic-thread/page-4 Agent Smith, would be interested to see pics of your SA find.
  11. Thanks Lefty I don't know anything about the plastidip stuff. I picked up a second set of rims today, that still need a bit of repair, and a can of the Honda Heather Mist color to trial. I'll post some pics here, but will be a while before I get to that stage, especially with the heat in Adelaide over the next 2 days :|. The Heather Mist should keep me close to standard, but certainly once I get the rims I picked up today repaired, repainted, and tyres swapped, I will look at doing up my existing rims in a different color.
  12. I have just bought another set of stock rims to refurbish, and I'm hoping that somebody here has a paint code that matches OEM graphite IS300 wheels. I saw a post on a US site that mentioned "YR508M-3 Honda heather mist", but I'd like something that matches better than "pretty well". Has anyone painted stock wheels themselves, or had them painted, and how did they turn out. Would be interested to see a few color options (my IS is white).
  13. Haven't seen any just like that, but Mars Performance have a clear LED set, on eBay, item 130489519390, and might have a couple of other options.
  14. Thanks Coconut, and Ilv Can anyone else confirm, no holes on an early (2003) IS? I'd hate to have the badges half off, and find a hole, which would need patching, and a (w)hole respray for the boot lid.
  15. hey everyone, I want to remove the badge that says lexus on the left and the model badge (IS300) on the right hand side of my rear end of the car. are they just stuck on or are there going to be holes left over if I take them off. anyone done this before and able to give me some advice? With plates that say IS300 :) I think just the Lexus badge in the middle will look great. (This is almost a direct copy from a post in the 259/350 forum, but thought the answers may differ. I will investigate under the boot lid trim to see if I can see any evidence of pins/holes.)
  16. Thanks for the pics Oddzee With a little extra tape, as suggested, I have all the visors fixed and aligned, including the clips as per your pics. I have meters of a couple of different types of tape if anyone in Adelaide needs some.
  17. Welcome Glazzy, from another recent SA IS300 owner. Keep an eye out for my car, white, SA rego IS300, between Klemzig and Unley.
  18. Thought I'd add my list, what I can remember. 1970's 1960 FB Wagon (Pink and White, what else) 197? F1000 Mazda Bongo Van 1958 Kombi (Fully fitted out) 1980s 197? Hi-Ace (Fully fitted out) 197? 19. Oddzee, I'm not putting the seller down, just saying that the clips don't fit the (my) window frames. If you could PM me with pics of how the clips fit, that would be great. Also, on another note, does anyone know where I can buy just the super-sticky doub;e-sided tape that's used for fitting external car trim like this? i though I might give the visors another go, and just try fixing with the tape only, and not worrying about the clips.
  20. It's OK, the front was never going to line up with the rear that I had already put on, too low, because of the clips, so it's off now, with the tape not reusable. Put this one down to experience.
  21. Thanks Wind Chaser, your comments are noted. Now that I do have the visors, I have managed to fit the passenger rear, but the drivers visor needs to sit too low, which makes it too short. If it sits flush with the top of the window frame, the length is right, but the clips don't have anywhere to go. I know these may not be magnificent quality, but I would appreciate any advice on how to fix the clips, and at what height the visors need to go. Anyone with visors of any type like to post or send me a couple of close-up pics, showing exactly where the visors sit in relation to the window frame?
  22. Has anyone purchased and fitted window visors like this? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/231390779560 The instructions are all Japanese, and I'm not exactly clear where (or which way up) the clips go, and the order of fixing them. Anyone with an English set of instructions for JDM window visors, or have fitted them successfully? I know I seen a few pics of cars with visors fitted on the forum. I have searched Youtube for a video, but nothing gives me the detail of the clips and how to attach them. Cheers, any help would be appreciated. Doesn't sound like much, but I don't want to trash the tape, or my window seals fitting them.
  23. I bought them off.T. On here. They are a bit more solid than original, but they feel great. Couldn't recimm them more highly.
  24. Just a few shots of my IS300 with the new plates, and the calipers painted. Love this car. Any IS owners in Adelaide, PM me. Would be good to get together some time.
  25. Good to hear Glazzy. I haven't pushed the tyres yet, but they seem fine so far. Will be interesting to see what k's I get.
